Good afternoon and welcome to the almost world famous Ace of Spades Pet Thread. Thanks for stopping by. Kick back and enjoy the world of animals.

Would you like a treat?

Let's relax a little with the animals and leave the world of politics and current events outside today.

If you had a problem with parrots swearing at guests visiting your wildlife park, should you put them in with other parrots to "dilute" the swearing?

Meet The PetMorons

From Jewells:

This is Roxy and Sox a bonded pair but not siblings. They've been together for 10 years. Hoping to adopt them out as a pair.

They look like siblings, and great dogs.

Several years ago you helped heal my loss of Beavis, who had to me put down at a very young age due to degenerative spinal issues. However, I'm still surrounded by critters, and a new wife who brings her own critter to the fold.

First photo is of Colorful Wife (you can't see her multitude of beautiful tattoos) being photobombed by Zim. He has multiple personalities. Here, he's cute. At other times he's a real terror to the other pets

Grrrrr, Zim's petite and quiet sister on her favorite napping spot.

Monster: Wife and I suspect he may be a Norwegian Forest Cat or similar due to his attitude and build. He was abandoned in a campground I lived at and adopted from there.

And finally, Princess. Not being a spazz at the moment. Instant pet, she's the Wife's "familiar".

And closing the loop, some of the local wild horses/mustangs of Northern Nevada in the neighborhood.

As always, thanks for posting

Thanks much for supporting the Pet Morons.

Daily reader/lurker Wandering Neurons

An amazing PetMoron family! Full of different personalities. Congratulations on the New Wife and new pets. Nice to see the horses, too!

Dagny_Year Two_March 2024.jpg

Hello, KT,

Attached are two recent pics of Stirling, once known as the Evil Black Kitten of War and Pestilence, emerging from his carrier at his most recent vet visit (and looking like "Somebody's gonna PAY for this!"). Which was not how he reacted at all; he was adaptable and easygoing even with the vet and her technician. The second shot is of him relaxing on my couch, in fact in my seat on the couch, at home.

The other two are of Dagny Sophia, La Siberienne (aka The Forest Feral), on her second birthday, March 26. This kitten has really filled out and become more impressive in the year and half since I adopted her! It's hard to get a good shot of her, Miss Linda says, because if you say her name to get her to look at you, she often gets up and comes over within petting range. Thus spoiling the shot. She may grow and fill out a bit more; conventional wisdom says Siberians don't reach their full growth until they are five.

Keep up the great work with the Pet Thread!

Wolfus Aurelius

What great cats!

Our beloved outdoor cat Oreo has crossed the rainbow bridge. An inflamed severe bladder obstruction that was too painful and dangerous for him and too costly for us to fix.

A work colleague rescued him in 2013 when she heard a little meow from behind a plant. She picked him and brought him to work. I told her my next door neighbor had recently lost her beloved cat Beebers and that he was perfect for her. Unfortunately, Oreo turned out to be a little too rambunctious for the indoors. He was quickly named "El Diablo" by her. He was neutered and then led him out into my neighbors yard. He lived there and with us in our yard. With the exception of two excursions away from us where he returned with big wounds turned into abscesses from obvious fights, he never left our yards. She fed him outside everyday and every evening, and I gave him treats every day. He was a very loyal cat.

We had 11 great years with him! We miss you buddy!

George, Terry, and Karen

So sorry that you have lost sweet Oreo. He looks like a great cat.
