The Quotes of The Day

Quote I

"It's coming whether we want it to or not. And everyone is walking around with AI in their hands with their phones, recording, videotaping," San Francisco Mayor London Breed

Quote II

"When a passenger feels unwell, we will... no longer stop the train," Valerie Pecresse, French Muckity Muck.

They (And you know who They are) will cheat in any possible way. Of course an Elections Board has to be overruled by a State Judge. Thank you FIB Judge Porter.

A state judge in Illinois ruled Wednesday that former President Donald Trump cannot appear on the state’s primary ballot, but she put her ruling on hold to await a Supreme Court decision in a similar case.

Judge Tracie Porter said Mr. Trump was not being truthful when he said he is qualified to serve as president, and therefore he cannot be listed on the ballot. She overturned the state’s board of elections, which had allowed Mr. Trump to appear.

The judge based the decision heavily on the controversial ruling by the Colorado Supreme Court, which kicked Mr. Trump off that state’s ballot in December. That ruling has been put on hold by the U.S. Supreme Court, and in fact voters in Colorado are voting with Mr. Trump on the GOP primary ballot right now, but Judge Porter called it “persuasive.”

Nothing but political theatrics. Donald Trump will never win Illinois in November. She took it upon herself to be full center of several news cycles. And of course she will face no repercussions for her unethical shenanigans.

Relying on color and ethnicity over the years has led to an interesting anti-war issue in the Democratic Party. Their theme is, "Beat the Russians. Beat the Jews."

And yet, as the night went on, it also became clear that the uncommitted vote was larger than expected, and that the antiwar Democrats had issued a powerful message to Biden and his political advisers. Statewide, the final tally of uncommitted voters was slightly more than a hundred thousand, about 13.3 per cent of the total. In Dearborn, it was fifty-six per cent, and in Ann Arbor it was nineteen per cent. Andy Levin, a former Democratic congressman from Michigan, who backed the uncommitted effort, pointed out that Biden’s winning margin over Trump in 2020 was a hundred and fifty-four thousand votes, and he called Tuesday’s result “historic.” Layla Elabed, the campaign manager for Listen to Michigan, which encouraged Democrats to vote uncommitted, said, “Our movement emerged victorious tonight and massively surpassed our expectations.” She added: “We don’t want a Trump Presidency, but Biden has put Netanyahu ahead of American democracy.” Congresswoman Debbie Dingell, who represents Michigan’s Sixth District, and is a supporter of Biden, said that the large uncommitted vote didn’t surprise her. “It’s not just the Arab American and Muslim community,” Dingell told CNN. “It’s young people who want to be heard and have the same concerns.

Facts don't matter, genitalia and skin color does.

Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson must have fallen asleep last night watching a vintage '80s Chuck Norris movie as part of her preparation to hear oral arguments today in the Garland v. Cargill bumpstock ban lawsuit because her understanding of firearms is even less realistic than your typical Cannon Films production.

“Justice too long delayed is justice denied.”

THE scheduled execution of a convicted serial killer has been delayed after prison officials were unable to find a vein to insert an IV.

Thomas Creech, 73, who was convicted in November 1974 of five murders in three states, was set to die by lethal injection at 10 am PST on Wednesday before it was suddenly called off.

This is where a couple of things come to mind. I wonder if the injection specialist was a former employee of Asprius Health. And a .38 behind the ear of his choice would be quick and painless.

It isn't always true. But in this case it is, “Those who can, do; those who can't, teach.”

Here’s a tale for those who’ve wondered what happens when two Designated Victim Groups – both accustomed to deference – collide. Specifically, “Indigenous faculty members” at Wilfrid Laurier University, and the black Dean of the university’s social work department.

At the centre of the conflict is Kathy Hogarth,
That would be our aforementioned black Dean and self-styled “radical.” A radical who invokes the “burden” of her unspecified “trauma,” who works “in the name of resistance,” and whose melanin-related grumbles include “the system of white mediocrity,” onto which her paler colleagues allegedly hold with “a vice grip.” One can only hope that Dr Hogarth’s “trauma,” whatever it might be, was at least partly soothed by the $200,000 salary.

Professors in the faculty of social work had some pre-existing grievances with Hogarth: they found her untransparent about hiring decisions and said she had a generally uncollegial attitude.
I’m assuming that includes using social media to publicly badmouth colleagues based on their race. All that “white mediocrity.”

But it was at a faculty retreat in September 2022 that the showdown between Hogarth and the Indigenous Field of Study (IFS) social work faculty came to a head.

Not only does he have a great view of NYC. He can now proudly show off his Genius Award

NJ man who chopped down neighbor’s trees ‘for better view of NYC’ fined $13,000 — and faces $1 million bill

A security exec who hacked off his New Jersey borough last year by cutting down his neighbor’s trees without a permit has to pay $13,000, a judge ruled.

But Grant Haber still has to get to the root of the problem: Local prosecutors say the damages could exceed $1 million after he’s forced to pay for the replacement and care of the felled trees.

Haber cut a plea deal that saw him fined for just 18 of the 32 trees that he paid a contractor to ax last March in wealthy Kinnelon, New Jersey.

Instead of calling the Emergency number and waiting. This guy took action. Tonight's Feel Good Story of The Day.

A bin man who saw flames leaping from a flat ‘like a blow torch’ climbed a balcony three times to rescue those inside, saving the lives of a man, a woman and their dog.

Steve Whitehouse, 49, showed incredible bravery to climb up to the first floor and make sure all three were rescued after he heard a woman screaming.

Even rescuing one of them would have been remarkable, the local fire chief said, but to bring all three out safely was ‘staggering’.
