Be careful what you say around certain birds:

Mother's love:

Maybe you should be more careful around possums than you have been taught in the past. They may even carry rabies, rarely. Don't let your pets get into fights with them.

Is it true that elephants never forget?

It amazes me that people develop relationships with these birds:

Meet The PetMorons

bailey y 1.jpg

bailey y 2.jpg

Hi there! Just wanted to send along pictures of our granddog, Bailey. She crossed over the Rainbow Bridge at the end of January, after many years of living with us after Daughter #1 "donated" her to us when she figured out an apartment wasn't the best place for a dog her size. Bailey joined our other 2 dogs and they played happily for several years. Bailey was the last of them to leave us - we are getting on in years and will, sadly, not be getting any more dogs.

The first picture was "taken" by our youngest, Rebecca, who was quite young herself when she got hold of my Kindle one day and started pushing buttons. When I finally realized what had happened, there were a LOT of pictures of the couch bottom, Rebecca's hands and feet, the bottom portions of several appliances, the floor in a couple of rooms, and this gem of a picture of Bailey wanting to play with Rebecca. It is still our favorite photo of any of our animals!

The second picture was from a few months ago - Bailey was starting to show her age, just like we are. She finally got so sick that we made the difficult decision to put her to sleep. Both of us were with her when she breathed her last; we owed her that.

The house has been so quiet the last week; we are having to get used to throwing away leftovers, since she isn't here to finish what we don't eat. The cleaning ladies got real teary when they realized that she wasn't here anymore; Bailey used to LOVE Mondays, because those ladies spoiled her rotten with lots of scritches and as many Milk Bones as she could beg from them each week.

We take comfort in knowing that she has been reunited with our other 2 dogs, as well as our daughter, Michelle, who loved all of them very much. We will see them all again one day.

Thank you for the Pet Thread - it is one of our favorite recurring threads

Teresa

So sorry that you have lost Bailey. So happy that you are keeping the wonderful memories and associations. Great photos.

From Jewells:

This is Nala a 12 year (vets best guess) pit mix. She looks pretty vicious here but she's a total sweetheart. I think she was just yawning!

Looks like a yawn to me.

By-Tor took advantage of nice cloudy weather to take dog portraits.

Bussy Bear thought I wanted her bone

The other dogs seemed to be cooperative.
