Good afternoon and welcome to the almost world famous Ace of Spades Pet Thread. Thanks for stopping by. Kick back and enjoy the world of animals.

Would you like a treat?

Let's relax a little with the animals and leave the world of politics and current events outside today.

Today's Gardening Thread featured some helpful crows. So, how about these birds?

Or maybe just a pet raven?

PERSISTENCE PAYS OFF

This is quite remarkable:

Longtime lurker SQUIRL sent in this fascinating wild pet story. Not for people who are afraid of Hatna Virus.

George Mouse house

What would you do if you found a family of mice roaming around your garden? I'm sure a lot of people would reach out for a bit of cheese and a mousetrap or let your cats wander around for a bit. However, if you're Simon Dell, you turn the situation into the perfect photo opportunity.

Wildlife photographer Simon Dell from Sheffield, United Kingdom, seized the opportunity to capture some beautiful photographs of these tiny little creatures. But he knew he had to entice the little mice to come towards him, so he built them a little set piece to capture their attention. And it worked! It wasn't long before the family of mice moved in, and they love their new home.Simon built the little mice a home made up of old fruit, vegetables, and props from around his house and the results are all too adorable.

To get the eye-catching imagery that he wanted, Simon created little houses for the two mice he named George and Mildred and for their little baby, Mini. He managed to entice them with nuts and berries that he kindly left for the tiny little mice. He would pick the nuts and berries on his walk around a nature reserve near his home in Sheffield.

Since then, Simon has grown very fond of the little mouse family and regularly updates their tiny village. This adorable little mouse family is very lucky to have such a kind landlord in Simon. be sure to visit the Mouses very own facebook page for more images and daily updates

That was 5 years ago. There are a bunch of videos since then, with quite a bit of variety.

Meet The PetMorons

Tally p.jpg

Anyone looking for a cool gift for the pet lover in your life, I can't recommend artist Steve Merryman at sigmadog.com more highly. I actually discovered him from the Ace of Spades Pet Thread and sent a photo of my daughter's Golden, Tally, for a Christmas present portrait last year. I was curious if he added it to his on-line gallery and on a whim checked out his website. Lo and behold, did he ever!

The picture is the actual photo I sent him and the link is his video of him actually creating the portrait.

A proud granddog daddy.

Great photo, great portrait, Nice idea! Looks like Tally is a wonderful dog!

I forgot to send the actual painting that now hangs in my daughter's house.

We can tell that Tally is treasured.

JoeBeau Christmas 2023.jpg

Hi KT, thanks so much for managing the Pet Thread at AOSHQS. Love it.

Please see attached photo of our beloved Joe aka JoeBeau.

He has made 2 prior appearances at the world-acclaimed Pet Thread, most recently as "Dog Save the King," last year.

Sadly, we had to let Joe go this week. Joe, our old rescue beagle, best of his breed. The entire vet staff got on the floor with him, to see him off. We miss him already. The photo is his last Christmas, which he enjoyed immensely by... standing under the tree. Who knows the Way of Beagles?

Thank you, and God Bless the Dogs.

Barikowtgoat

So sorry you have lost your wonderful beagle friend. Keep in touch. And yes, God Bless the Dogs. And Cats.

Auggie

auggie doggieee.jpg

Named after Hanna-Barbera's Augie Doggie, which might make me Doggie Daddy. Still, my wife is the love of his life. Especially since she feeds him. We rescued the little guy about 13 years ago. He loves to ride on the console of my truck which was where he was headed when I took this shot. I've been following AoSHQ since maybe 2005. Really enjoy the content. Thanks!

Wacko from Tennessee

I like Auggie!

Hello,

Technically, I'm not a lurker because some time ago I made a nickname and commented on a post. But I can't find my name or password or whatever. I suppose that still makes me a regular lurker. Oh well, I wear the badge proudly.

Anyway, I regularly read the AOS Pet Thread every Sunday morning now (we live in Korea). I attached two photos of Tango, our 12-year-old Chihuahua, who we adopted at ten-weeks from the Franklin Country (Ohio) Animal Shelter two days after his sisters were adopted and left him all alone.

Tango is unique. Besides being the Very Best Good Boy in the World, he's probably the only good boy who's seen the Atlantic Ocean from Bar Harbor, ME and Miami Beach, FL, and seen both sides of the Pacific Ocean, from Pismo Beach, CA and various spots in Korea!

Photo #1: Tango wearing the hanbok (Korean traditional dress) tie his mom made for him last year, during Korea's Chuseok (Autumn Harvest) holiday. He prefers the tie to the full dress because the dress restricts his legs when he's busy protecting us from incoming monsters.

Photo #2: Tango modeling a new winter suit he picked up the other day.

Thanks for your time and consideration.

Mark

What fashion! And what a story Tango has! Thanks for sharing.

If you start feeling nostalgic, here a link to last week's Pet Thread, the Ace of Spades Pet Thread, January 27 Some special PetMoron photos there.

I closed the comments on this post so you wouldn't get banned for commenting on a week-old post, but don't try it anyway.
