Wait, have I been swindled by AI?
Don't yell at me
via @ryanresatka at IG

By the way, did you see The Dawn Wall? Incredible. Incredible! It starts off with the subjects being captured by terrorists and using their superior climbing skills to escape, and that's just the preamble to catch you up with what's going on before the documentary proper starts.

The rest of the documentary is fantastic, but I was like: "Why are you rushing over this real-life Cliffhanger movie? Do a documentary just on this!" It's like if you're watching a documentary about Michael Phelps and they go, "before he began swimming competitively, Michael trained as a ninja for fifteen years and was crowned champion at the secret worldwide underground fighting contest called the Kumitae. That out of the way, let's go on his swimming record in middle school. He always had big feet -- that helps in the pool."

Anyway, big recommendation.

Wait: I might have meant Free Solo. They're both great, and feature some of the same people. I forget which one starts with the guy being captured by terrorists while mountain climbing in Algeria (or somewhere like that).

Watch them both, just to make sure. Update: Alabama says I had it right the first time. But both are really good.

Some of you were talking about clearing your driveways. Next time, try gasoline.

AI is getting scary.

Passengers on the left side of the airplane will see a Falcon Heavy Rocket lifting off...

Swinger's pad.

The Canyon of the Crescent Moon...! By the way, in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, they briefly stop in the Republic of Hatay, for some vehicles (and tanks!). I always assumed that was a made-up name. It's not.
