The Quotes of The Day

Quote I

"We're facing homelessness from the end of the lease because I can't afford to pay the $630 and her response to that was that if I don't vacate the premises by the first of January then the owners can take me to court." Jakki Brooking, RN

When a government program has the word "scheme" in it's title, look out.

Quote II

"My son is here so I need to come back and visit him - but I think it's going to be really hard to come back now.

"First they [The Home Office] refused to renew my visa, now they're making it impossible for me to visit. It's horrible what they are doing." Claudia Marcos Sanchez

Quote III

“There was a bit of oinking around in Springfield this week after a pig got loose and went hog wild,”The Ohio State Highway Patrol

I want to see all of the redacted info on "Doe 36" released. Horndawg Clinton's reputation ought to take a hit.

Amid a long-standing conflict over whether former President Bill Clinton visited alleged sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein’s private island, a new report indicates that Clinton will be named in an upcoming release of court filings related to Epstein.

Multiple reports have indicated that Clinton flew on Epstein’s private jet, which has garnered the media nickname of the “Lolita Express” due to the allegations of trafficking underage girls on it. That eventually ended up with Epstein associate Ghislaine Maxwell being convicted on sex trafficking charges. Epstein died in prison in 2019 while awaiting trial. His death was ruled a suicide.

During her trial, pilot Larry Visoski said that during the years he flew Epstein’s private jet, Bill Clinton was indeed a passenger, according to The Associated Press.

I wager that friend & fellow Cob J.J. Sefton will have an impressive take on this story tomorrow morning. Unless he eats too many Wisconsin cheese curds and consumes too much Sconnie brewskis.

Cargo ship carrying burning lithium-ion batteries reaches Alaska, but kept offshore for safety

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — A large cargo ship with a fire in its hold is being kept 2 miles (3.22 kilometers) offshore of an Alaska port as a precaution while efforts are undertaken to extinguish the flames, the U.S. Coast Guard said Saturday.

There were no injuries to the 19 crew members aboard the Genius Star XI, which was carrying a load of lithium-ion batteries across the Pacific Ocean, from Vietnam to San Diego, the guard’s Alaska district said in a release.

The fire started on Christmas Day in cargo hold No. 1, a spokesperson for ship owner Wisdom Marine Group said in a statement. The crew released carbon dioxide into the hold and sealed it over concerns of an explosion.

A sweaty blob is upset with Tucker Carlson. Mark Dice looks at the current Ben Shapiro vs. Tucker Carlson dick measuring contest. My take? Carlson is right and Shapiro and Podhoretz still want others to die for their wet dreams.

I had a nice telephone conversation today with CBD. While we were discussing recent trips he brought up the fact he could have rented a Tesla. But, after doing the "math" he didn't want to risk being stranded on the side of the road. I guess he isn't the only one who still prefers the ICE sedan.

As millions head out for holiday happenings, even the most well-prepared electric vehicle (EV) operators could find themselves snagged, ensnaring other road warriors in Christmas chaos.

Pushing the green agenda, President Joe Biden and others of the “build back better” fandom have readily latched onto opportunities to force the transition from reliable gas-powered vehicles to EVs ahead of establishing an infrastructure to support them.

Now with the American Automobile Association predicting the second-busiest Christmas travel period since 2000, warning bells are ringing for EV owners and potential renters about what woes they might run into that traditional drivers won’t face.

According to AAA, more than 115 million Americans are expected to be traveling, and roughly 104 million will be on the road between Dec. 23 and Jan. 1 driving to destinations at least 50 miles away from their homes.

An EV driver herself, Axios reporter Joann Muller spoke to the challenges of “Getting over the river and through the woods” that could be faced, in particular when traveling to colder climes.

I am neither surprised or shocked. I am saddened by this court decision. What has become of the greatest judicial system in the world? It has been taken over by political vehemence and revenge.

Missouri Court Claims Mark McCloskey Still Guilty of Gun Charge, despite Pardon

A Missouri court just ruled that Mark McCloskey is still guilty of the gun charges that the state’s Republican governor issued an official pardon for.

McCloskey is the attorney who was infamously caught on camera – alongside his wife – brandishing a firearm amid a Black Lives Matter protest that took place outside of his home during the summer of 2020.

The election cycle is starting to churn. Resident of The White House, Joe Mushhead and his affirmative action hire United States Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Charles Q. Brown Jr. display testosterone.

The US Navy has destroyed Houthi "small boats" whose crew attempted to board a container ship in the Red Sea.

Four vessels from Houthi-controlled areas in Yemen fired upon the Maersk Hangzhou and got within metres of the ship, the US military said.
Helicopters from nearby US warships responded to a distress call - and, after being fired upon, sank three boats "in self-defence".
The crews were killed and the fourth boat fled the area.
A Houthi spokesperson said the vessel had refused to respond to warning calls, and that 10 of its group members were dead or missing after the incident.

Houthi forces have been attacking ships in the Red Sea since November, launching more than 100 drone and missile attacks on vessels passing through the vital shipping lane.

Opinions are like noses, everyone has one. Are these things that made the world a better place?

20 Things That Made the World a Better Place in 2023
From the falling costs of renewable energy to new treatments for a whole host of diseases, 2023 wasn’t all doom and gloom.

It’s been hard recently to think about anything other than the wars and humanitarian crises raging around the world. Climate change has left its mark in what was almost certainly the hottest year in human history—there were unprecedented heat waves, intensified forest fires, torrential rain, and floods like those in Libya that caused devastation after two dams burst.

But this has not stopped scientists, innovators, and decisionmakers from working on solutions to our biggest societal challenges—with success. Here is a collection of uplifting news to come out of 2023.

400-Pound Former Student Sues School Because He Can't Be a Gym Teacher

Now there’s a new heavyweight in the news, and his sweatpants overflow with obnoxiousness. The Detroit News reported that David Lopez is a 44-year-old man who was a student in the physical education kinesiology program at Wayne State University. He is suing the school for $1 million because he wasn’t allowed to do his teaching virtually.

I guess it would be embarrassing to have the students run rings around you.
