Plastic Makers Lied About Recycling for Decades

My little village has a recycling program, so as a good citizen I participate. But...I no longer recycle thin plastic water bottles and clamshell containers and such. Sure, I'll recycle glass (it probably loses money but it can be a net positive) and metals, in particular aluminum. But the flimsy plastic sh*t just gets shipped off to the third world and a lot of it ends up in rivers and oceans.
