A stray canine in North Carolina that repeatedly tried to steal a purple stuffed unicorn from a Dollar General has been adopted.

Duplin County Animal Services was called to the store after Sisu, a one-year-old Labrador mix, kept entering a Dollar General store and stealing a large, purple stuffed unicorn.

Officer Samantha Lane caught Sisu in the middle of the act, took him to the shelter, and bought him the $10 toy for the duration of his stay at the shelter.

Duplin County Animal Services announced Friday that Sisu had been adopted.

This is Roci (short for Rocinante), a 2-year-old half Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, and half Lhasa Poo. She is quite smart and easy to train, "speaks" to us when she wants something, and is full of love and affection.

Here is a photo of Precious, our 15 year old Bichon. We got her last July from the pound. Her original owner turned her in for some reason. She is a sweetie and gets more adorable every day. It didn't take long for her to know when we're taking her for a walk. And it didn't take long for her to teach us when it's time to feed her. (Which is whenever she wakes up from a nap.)

Awwww, she truly is precious. Fifteen! How lovely that you could adopt her.

Had a Cooper's Hawk swoop in and land on my porch yesterday. Wife is an avid birder, so I'm sure he's scoping out all the sparrows and goldfinches. Didn't catch one this time, though.

Took the photos from inside with my cell phone...pretty impressive how good that technology has come along!

I always debate whether to put wild critters into the gardening or the pet thread. I'm not sure that Grimmy considers this hawk to be a pet, but it is impressive!
