Leftwing Illinois Governor Pritzker Writes Letter to Biden, Demanding "Intervention and Coordination" on the Border

llinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker on Monday fired off a letter to President Joe Biden about an "untenable" migrant crisis in the state, calling for an overhaul to the system and blasting the White House for a "lack of intervention and coordination at the border."

Pritzker, a Democrat, said the state's resources were beyond strained after Texas officials bused more than 15,000 migrants to Illinois in the past year.

"Unfortunately, the welcome and aid Illinois has been providing to these asylum seekers has not been matched with support by the federal government," Pritzker wrote. "Most critically, the federal government's lack of intervention and coordination at the border has created an untenable situation for Illinois."

The administration has given the city of Chicago and the state of Illinois more than $46 million in grant funding to support recently arrived migrants, according to the White House.

"President Biden has repeatedly called on Congress to pass comprehensive immigration reform since his first day in office. Without the help of Congress, the Administration has been taking action: since May 12, we have removed or returned over a quarter million individuals," White House spokesperson Angelo Fernández Hernández said in a statement.

The Democrats' only solution to unimpeded mass illegal immigration is to make it legal, turning it into unimpeded mass legal immigration. Presto! All fixed!

Fernández Hernández added that the administration has moved to accelerate processing of work permits. "We will continue to work closely with Illinois and states and cities across the country," he added.

Fueling the letter is what Pritzker described as a "humanitarian crisis" that strains adequate housing for people who are taking refuge in police stations and even on sidewalks, as well as medical help and other social services, he wrote.

Pritzker then argued that it's not fair for Texas to send its illegals to the sanctuary city of Chicago -- Texas must be forced to keep the illegal aliens that blue cities vote to let into the country!

[P]ritzker went further, asking that the federal government intervene by helping manage where migrants end up.

"Allowing just one state to lay the burden upon a certain few states run by Democrats is untenable," Pritzker wrote. "We are a nation that has welcomed immigrants and refugees since our founding, and we have done so in a bipartisan manner. It cannot be that just a few cities and states should now bear the cost of this effort alone."

Democrats are starting to feel the heat from their own constituents. Just a few days ago, a top advisor to NYC's mayor called upon the feds to close the borders.

A top advisor to Mayor Eric Adams on Sunday called for the federal government to "close the borders" in order to prevent more migrants from coming to New York City.

"We need the federal government, the Congress members, the Senate and the president to do its job: close the borders," Adams' senior advisor Ingrid Lewis-Martin said during an interview on PIX11. "And until you close the borders, you need to come up with a full-on decompression strategy where you can take all of our migrants and move them throughout all of our 50 states."

Lewis-Martin's comments marked an escalation in the rhetoric from the mayor's office surrounding the city's migrant crisis. City officials estimate more than 116,000 migrants -- primarily asylum-seekers -- have come to New York City since April 2022. Lewis-Martin said more than 61,000 migrants remain under the city's care.

The call to "close the borders" resembled comments made by several right-wing members of Congress who threatened to shut down the federal government if strict border policies were not included in a new funding bill. The lawmakers called for the return of a "remain in Mexico policy" instituted under former President Donald Trump that kept asylum-seekers from entering the country until their cases were processed in court.

New York's hag governess Kathy Hochul also said that the "border is too open," but was then pressured to fall back into line and support the open borders agenda.

Sunday, Gov. Hochul delivered a spot-on explanation for New York's current dilemma -- for how it came to be stuffed full of penniless border-hoppers.

The problem, she said, is the border itself: As in, "It's too open right now."

Which it obviously is. The consequences -- societal, fiscal and cultural -- also are obvious, and becoming more so.

But Hochul's candor -- aimed squarely at Washington, and at Joe Biden in particular -- clearly has had consequences too.

On Monday, she was warbling a different -- far more deferential -- tune. To wit:

"With respect to what was said about the border, I have called for a more thoughtful, balanced national immigration -- federal -- immigration policy."

Translation: "Oops, I sure stepped in it this time. Please don't hurt me."
