Not sure if this really fits the hobby thread, but maybe encouragement to try a hobby?
A drop spindle can be made from an old CD, and inexpensive roving can be found on Amazon. Tablet weaving only needs cards, a C-clamp, and a shuttle to make a band suitable for a guitar strap. There are directions, patterns, and videos available to demonstrate these.
This is a small loom (8 inches) that was inexpensive--this will be a bookmark (gr). There are ways to try out a craft without spending too much money, one can always move up! - Lirio100
My oldest daughter started off knitting. Now she is weaving her own yarn. One never knows where a hobby will take you. And by all means Barbara your email certainly belongs in The Weekend Hobby Thread.

You can never be too rich, too thin, or have too many clamps.
Been meaning to build a clamp rack for years. Finally got around to it. Merged three different plans and best practices to make this using one full 8X4 sheet of 3/4 sanded plywood.- Lurker FormerHostage
