Oh look! Another leftist government unleashes its thugs to subvert democrat rule and the rule of law.

Yawn.

We are way ahead of Argentina. Remember, the chocolate lightworker said, "We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded." Read: Antifa, BLM, ACORN, and a dozen other organizations dedicated to what is euphemistically called, "Direct Action."

Argentina: Leftist Protest Leader Claims to Have Inspired Nationwide Looting Spree

The leader of the Argentine Independent Movement for the Retired and Unemployed (MIJD), a leftist protest organization, took responsibility on Tuesday evening for an ongoing wave of looting of supermarkets and stores that began over the weekend.

The violence erupted across several provinces of the country shortly after Argentina held its Open Primary election, in which Argentine libertarian economist and lawmaker Javier Milei was the most voted candidate.

In addition to widespread looting, some supermarkets have also been set on fire.

Although there are almost 56 reported arrests for attempted looting in the Buenos Aires province alone as of Tuesday, the spokeswoman for Argentina’s current leftist presidency, Gabriela Cerruti, publicly denied the existence of any looting on Tuesday through her social media accounts.

Cerruti accused Milei, his La Libertad Avanza ("Liberty Advances") coalition, and Milei’s sympathizers of spreading “fake” videos and photos through social media.

“It is an operation organized by Javier Milei’s people whose objective is to generate destabilization and whose objective is to generate uncertainty because they are profoundly undemocratic,” Cerutti said in a video posted on the Chinese social media platform TikTok.

And then of course they claim that they are just trying to feed their families. It's for the children!

It's a classic story, told over and over by the enemies of the West, freedom, and self determination. The idea that mobs can pressure society is an old one, and we have seen it accelerate in America since the election of Obama in 2008.

Writ small it is shouting down a conservative speaker...writ large it is voter intimidation, jury intimidation, and the catalyst for the further destruction of cities, as businesses and citizens leave for safer and more prosperous suburbs.

Sadly, that story is also a successful one, because right-of-center governments and people find it difficult to combat. We are constitutionally resistant to coordinated political action, preferring a multitude of views expressed primarily at the ballot box. And add in the difficult concept of combating violence, we shy away from meeting it head on, preferring the rule of law to street battles.

And that's why we are losing.

Because the rule of law is gone, replaced by hyper-politicized and selective enforcement of our laws. Leftist rioters go free...conservative protesters go to jail. Leftist violation of our basic 1st Amendment rights is encouraged by academia. Conservative voices are penalized by opaque and selectively enforced campus rules, while progressive thought is the official orthodoxy. The media are a quasi-official organ of the state, and regurgitate talking points without question.

Is the sane, right-of-center majority in America willing to battle the Stalinists who are ascendant in our government with the appropriate tools, or are we going to rely on the oh-so-polite and outmoded techniques that have ceded the field to the left, and led to their success?

And even more important...is it too late to shift to a more robust plan of action? Is the left too entrenched in the organs of state power?
