The Cost Of Soup Is About To Soar Even Higher; Thank President Biden

President Biden accuses China, Germany, and Canada of dumping steel used to package canned goods. The result will be higher prices for everything canned including soup, sauces, and vegetables.

New Tariffs on Food-Can Metal From China, Germany and Canada
Please expect the price of all canned goods to rise due to New Tariffs on Food-Can Metal From China, Germany and Canada.

The Biden administration on Thursday announced new tariffs on can-making metal imported from China, Germany and Canada, a move that food companies say could lead to higher prices for some canned foods.

Chinese products would be subject to the highest tariffs of the three countries—a levy of 122.52% of their import value. That rate partly reflects Chinese companies’ refusal to cooperate with the investigation to prove their independence from the Chinese Communist Party, an administration official said.

The Consumer Brands Association, a trade group representing companies such as Campbell Soup and Fresh Del Monte Produce, estimated new tariffs, if applied aggressively, could raise the prices of canned food by up to 30%.

Suicide is a sad ending to one's life. Using the death for one's political agenda is just wrong. Wrong!

The DOJ has ruled that a police officer who committed suicide eight days after the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol incursion actually died in the line of duty, which cleared the way for his widowed wife to receive federal benefits that are normally only given to the families of fallen officers.

Up to this point, families of officers who committed suicide were prevented from receiving such benefits, which no doubt leaves the Biden administration and Democrats open to new calls of politicizing the DOJ.

Need proof that J6 defendants are harshly sentenced. Here you go.

Appellate Court Overturns Excessive Sentence for January 6 Defendant
After the chief judge of the D.C. federal court suggested DOJ should impose jail time and probation for "parading" convictions, DOJ complied. Now an appellate court concluded both were wrong.

If the events of January 6 had to be described solely based on the number of criminal charges, the media would be forced to call it a “parade” rather than an “insurrection.”

I saw this story earlier last week. The raid sounded like Bullshit when I read about it initially. And the story doesn't get any better.

Court records detail basis for police raid on Kansas newspaper
Reporter Phyllis Zorn and editor Eric Meyer said no laws were broken in their investigation of local restaurateur Kari Newell

The police chief who led the raid of a Kansas newspaper alleged in previously unreleased court documents that a reporter either impersonated someone else or lied about her intentions when she obtained the driving records of a local business owner.

But reporter Phyllis Zorn, Marion County Record editor and publisher Eric Meyer, and the newspaper’s attorney said on Sunday that no laws were broken when Zorn accessed a public state website for information on restaurant operator Kari Newell.

The raid carried out on 11 August and led by Marion police chief Gideon Cody brought international attention to the small central Kansas town that now finds itself at the center of a debate over press freedoms. Police seized computers, personal cellphones and a router from the newspaper, but all items were released on Wednesday after the county prosecutor concluded there wasn’t enough evidence to justify the action.

Late on Saturday, the Record’s attorney, Bernie Rhodes, provided copies of the affidavits used in the raid to the Associated Press and other news media. The documents had previously not been released. They showed that Zorn’s obtaining of Newell’s driving record was the driving force behind the raid.

The newspaper, acting on a tip, checked the public website of the Kansas department of revenue for the status of Newell’s driver’s license as it related to a 2008 conviction for drunk driving.

Looks like Kansas Law Enforcement is in need of serious reform. The Kansas 2 Step is not some kind of line dance.

KANSAS CITY, Kan. — A federal judge has ruled against the Kansas Highway Patrol, telling the agency to stop detaining drivers without reasonable suspicion.

It’s a tactic FOX4 first told you about in February referred to as the “Kansas Two Step.” Troopers target motorists with out-of-state license plates or those traveling to or from states where recreational marijuana is legal.

I remember when a stories like these would have been front page news here in the USA. Rights who need 'em?

Boats. Wind power. A new concept. Who would have thought that wind could power a ship?

A cargo ship, typically a dirty oil guzzler, has taken to the open seas with a new green, clean technology onboard. The first vessel of its kind to be retrofitted with the technology called WindWings, the Pyxis Ocean has set sail from China with a lofty goals of helping the maritime industry decarbonize.

Agribusiness giant Cargill charted the Mitsubishi Corporation vessel. The WindWings, described as “an advanced wind-assisted propulsion and route optimization system” in today’s (Aug. 21) press release, have been developed by UK-based design and engineering firm BAR Technologies and manufactured by Yara Marine Technologies.

Biden Administration to Urge All Americans: Get a Coronavirus Booster Shot Now

All Americans will be urged by the Biden administration to get a coronavirus booster shot this autumn ahead of what it claims is a new wave of infections, a White House official said Sunday.

Reuters reports the official said while the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports an increase in infections and hospital admissions from the virus, overall levels remain low, however caution is urged.

Looking like America, or how to water down recruiting efforts.

The Army released the second wave of promotional videos in its rebranding campaign Monday intended to boost its “relatability” to a diverse array of Americans amid persistent recruiting problems, according to Defense One.

The Army revived its 1980s slogan “Be All You Can Be” in March in hopes of attracting a new generation of future soldiers as recruiting fell 25% short of its goals in 2022 and is expected to mirror the shortfall in 2023. The “First Steps” series is meant to appeal to Gen Z’s desire for genuine engagement and emphasize knowledge, culture and trust, Ignatios Mavridis, the acting chief of Army Enterprise Marketing, told Defense One.

“Gen Z wants to make their mark on the world, but they aren’t sure they can,” Mavridis said in a statement. “Through ‘First Steps’ depiction of real people, real emotions and real scenarios, we’re showing today’s youth that you don’t have to have it all figured out from the beginning to make an impact.”

It was only a matter of time before Woke came to Rock 'N' Roll.

Rock music has always been about tweaking the establishment. From the early rock & roll days, musicians have specialized in sticking it to the man. That’s all well and good when the man is a buttoned-down square with traditional values, but when the woke becomes the establishment — you kids had better turn that music off.

e’ve already seen the left go after authors, films, and TV shows, but that’s not all. Now the wokescolds are going after classic rock music. It all started when Universal Records added Queen’s “Greatest Hits” album to the library for Yoto, a new entertainment platform aimed at a youth audience.

“Queen’s greatest hits are now available!” crows the Yoto website. Only it’s not true because one of Queen’s biggest smashes is missing. Universal left “Fat Bottomed Girls” off the Greatest Hits album on the Yoto platform.

“Fat Bottomed Girls” is an ode to the women of the title, and it has been a staple of classic rock radio for decades. It’s unmistakably Queen, and it’s a lot of fun to harmonize with.

The Daily Mail described “Fat Bottomed Girls” as “a humorous and hard-rocking tribute to a young man’s appreciation of fuller-figured ladies.” The tune hit #11 on the British charts and #24 on the Billboard Hot 100; it also went double-platinum stateside. But it’s too much for the woke folx.

The ONT Is Always Looking Out For YouTM. Avoid the Moscow Sewer Tour. Seriously go to the library.

At Least 8 Feared Dead After Sewer Tour Goes Awry

The tour guide was among those missing. In his last text message, he reportedly wrote, “F*ck, it’s raining.”

A guided tour through Moscow’s sewer system went horribly wrong on Sunday when a downpour flooded the underground tunnels while the tour group was inside.

Now, a frantic search is underway for at least eight missing members of the trip. Three teenagers have been found dead so far, one 17-year-old and two 15-year-olds, according to state-run media.
