Bidenomics!

Here We Go Again. Gas Prices Jump In Past Month

A little more than a year ago, the Biden-created gas price increase peaked and caused a wave of inflation the U.S. is still recovering from. Well, it looks like it’s happening again but so far, not as bad. Gas price prices are starting to rise again. According to the AAA national average prices, each gallon in your tank has gone from $3.537 to $3.829 during the past month. An increase of almost thirty cents a gallon, a significant spike for a one-month period.

Under the Trump presidency, the U.S. became energy self-sufficient for the first time in decades. That self-sufficiency kept prices down, but Biden’s policies pushed them up.

Last week I specifically went to the least expensive gas station in town. Didn't realize I hit 93 instead of 87. So much for my brilliant plan.

The Hand Of God

Venomous snake falls from the sky and attacks a woman, she screams "Help me, Jesus!", and a hawk swoops in and snatches the snake off her

Now, as the article points out, it was probably the hawk that dropped the snake on her in the first place, but you got to take your miracles where you find them.

Wholesome Content

And yes, I spotted the contradiction in the story. People these days are obsessed with whether of not stories are true. I don't know if this is true or not. I hope it is, but even if it's not, it's a wonderful parable with a good lesson, and I'm willing to accept it on that basis.

Demographics Are Destiny

Democrats and Republicans aren’t divided by gender, they’re divided by marriage

In 2022 House races, men nationally favored the GOP by 14 points (56% Republican to 42% Democrat), while women favored Democrats by 8 points (53% Democrat to 45% Republican).
But drill a little deeper, and the picture becomes a little more complicated.

Adding marital status to the mix, the GOP advantage among married men shoots up to 20 points (59% Republican to 39% Democrat) and shrinks among unmarried men to just 7 points (52% Republican to 45% Democrat).

But what most people don’t know, including everyone who works at Politico apparently, is that among married women, Republicans still maintain a sizable 14-point advantage (56% Republican to 42% Democrat).

But if Republicans are winning married men by 20 points, married women by 14 points, and unmarried men by 7 points, then who is keeping Democrats competitive?

Single women are single-handedly saving the Democratic Party. By a 37-point margin (68% to 31%), single women overwhelmingly pulled the lever for Democrats.

And now you know a big reason why the left so relentlessly pursues policies that are bad for the people involved, and destructive to the tradition family group.

Woke Kills

A Racist Smear. A Tarnished Career. And the Suicide of Richard Bilkszto.

A well respected educator is hounded to suicide because he questioned something in a DEI training session.

Kike Ojo-Thompson, a diversity trainer in Toronto, was explaining to her class of 200 or so public school administrators that Canada is a much more racist country than the United States.

“Canada is a bastion of white supremacy and colonialism,” Thompson said to a sea of nodding heads squeezed into Zoom. “The racism we experience is far worse here than there.”

It was April 26, 2021, and Thompson was leading attendees through a session on systemic inequity.

Thompson acknowledged that this might be hard for Canadians to accept, explaining that Americans “have a fighting posture against, at least, the monarchy. Here we celebrate the monarchy, the very heart and soul and origins of the colonial structure.”

It was at that point that Richard Bilkszto, the principal of Burnhamthorpe Collegiate Institute and Adult Learning Centre, put his hand up. (Burnhamthorpe is a high school that caters mostly to students in their twenties who previously dropped out.) Bilkszto had trained in the United States, he was a devout progressive, and he was mystified by Thompson’s comments.

Citing Canada’s public schools, tax regime, and socialized healthcare system, and no doubt drawing on his own experience teaching in a predominantly black high school in Buffalo, New York, he said: “We’re a far more just society.”

Now, I think he's wrong about all of that, but that's neither here nor there. Just for questioning the premise, he was destroyed.

How To Summon An Army Of Worms

The Narrative Must Not Be Challenged

My Research on Gender Dysphoria Was Censored. But I Won’t Be.

Retraction of scientific articles is associated with well-deserved shame: plagiarism, making up data, or grave concerns about the scientific integrity of a study. But my article was not retracted for any shameful reason. It was retracted because it provided evidence for an idea that activists hate.

The retracted article, “Rapid Onset Gender Dysphoria: Parent Reports on 1655 Possible Cases,” was coauthored with Suzanna Diaz, who I met in 2018 at a small meeting of scientists, journalists, and parents of children they believed had Rapid Onset Gender Dysphoria (ROGD).

ROGD was first described in the literature in 2018 by the physician and researcher Lisa Littman. It is an explanation of the new phenomenon of adolescents, largely girls, with no history of gender dysphoria, suddenly declaring they want to transition to the opposite sex. It has been a highly contentious diagnosis, with some—and I am one—thinking it’s an important avenue for scientific inquiry, and others declaring it’s a false idea advocated by parents unable to accept they have a transgender child.

Activists hate the idea of a social contagion, because it challenges their holy writ that being trans is innate. So naturally they censor what they don't want looked at.
