This is Carmi a shih tzu who is around 10 years old. Her owner passed away. She's been at Shep's about 3 weeks. The first time I met her she was very very anxious and wouldn't settle down or even let anyone pet her. Today she was much better and loved the attention I gave her. I don't think she'll be at Shep's long!

Too cute by a lot!

You were kind enough to post a picture of my passed Yorkie, Sparky, a few weeks ago. Well, here is our new dog of 3 days, Zooey. Rather than a new puppy, we wanted to try looking for rescue dogs this time and found her through a local group. She was apparently a stray picked up in an out-of-state church parking lot, about 1 year old per the vet, and is currently quite stressed and fearful. Things have gotten better today and she seems to be settling in now. A few more days and she will be much more used to us.

Our best guess is a strong amount of wire-haired terrier in her
background, maybe mixed with chihuahua. A small dog, maybe 12-13 pounds, but hearing and vision are sharp and everything else seems good.

How great that you found a rescue. Hope that Zooey settles in quickly to a wonderful life with you.

My dog Zuko has been featured a few times on the pet thread. He is getting on in years, now. Recently, on our afternoon walks, he has taken to resting for few minutes beside the creek below our house. I believe he's looking for that bridge that gets mentioned here from time to time. I will continue enjoying our time together until he finds it.

I've shared my wire-haired doxies (Bingo and Eli) but had to share new pup with all pet morons. Never heard of a MOYEN POODLE but this is Virga. She's 5 months old and a pure bred Moyen Poodle. Not a "doodle", not a Standard but bigger than the miniature poodle. She's a wonderful girl and I will likely never want another dachshund. She's friendly, big enough to go for walks, not too big and still doesn't shed. Meets all my criteria for my season of life! The "boys" aren't sure about her but she's growing on them!
