The Quotes of The Day

Quote I

This prosecution is a travesty. It’s a bad reading of legislation that was clearly intended to cover NFA-regulated arms that Mr. Anderson did not possess. This case should have never been prosecuted and should be promptly dismissed. Rob Doar, Senior Vice President-Government Affairs for the Minnesota Gun Owners Caucus

Quote II

“It is tough to understand how somebody can commit cold-blooded murder, plan to do it, tell everyone they’re going to do it, have a motive to do it, and then somehow be considered insane.” Charles Thayer

Quote III

It takes an utter contempt for the intelligence of the public to insist that “the answer remains the same” and then give an entirely new answer. Jonathan Turley

I'm so old I remember analog bag cellular phones.

What’s old is hot again, and flip phones are so very hot right now.

These phones are a far cry from the phone that you mastered T9 texting on in college. Today’s flip phones are garden-variety 2023 smartphones that happen to fold in half — plus a screen on the front cover.

They’ve been making a kind of comeback over the past few years, but until now, they’ve existed in the shadows of their bigger, pricier fold-style counterparts. That’s understandable, considering that their small cover screens haven’t been good for much more than checking the weather and pressing pause on a podcast. But that’s all changing this year: in a round of updates from Motorola, Oppo, and very likely Samsung next, cover screens are getting much larger and way more useful. And that’s a big deal.

I haven't listened to the Bob & Tom Radio Show in a number of years now. But I always enjoyed the "Donny Baker" bits. RIP Donny Baker of Donny & The Pork Pistols.

US comedian Ron Sexton has died aged 52.

The comic was most famous for playing Donnie Baker, and his family took to his Facebook page to break the sad news to fans.

They said: ‘It is with immense sadness that we let everyone know that Ron Sexton passed away yesterday.

‘He was Donnie Baker to most of you, but Ron and Dad to us. Please respect our privacy at this time and pray for our family.’

This is good news. My online shopping will continue.

TOPLINE Delivery giant United Parcel Service (UPS) struck an agreement with the International Brotherhood of Teamsters on Tuesday for a five-year labor contract, avoiding a major strike by hundreds of thousands of workers that could have caused nationwide supply chain disruptions and higher shipping costs.

American law enforcement could take a lesson from the Israelis when it comes to peaceful protests. Water pistols. Big fucking water pistols.

Watch the moment police water canon blasts a flag-waving man backwards off wall

This is the disturbing moment a topless protester holding an Israeli flag was toppled by a water canon.

Footage shared online showed officers directing the powerful stream at the man’s chest during demonstrations against the passing of a key part of prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s judicial overhaul.

Moments later, he can be seen tumbling backwards, unable to push against the force of the canon.

He was one of thousands of protesters who clashed with police across Israel in the last 24 hours.

Disturbing? ***SNORT***

Meet Carson of Arizona. Nutter is a firefighter and occasionally your friendly neighborhood arsonist.

An Arizona firefighter has been charged with arson after allegedly confessing to setting multiple fires across two counties over the past few weeks, according to the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities identified Karson Nutter, 18, on Friday as the key suspect in the investigation of eight arson events – four structure fires and four wildfires – in Yavapai and Coconino counties since June.
