The Quotes of The Day

Quote I

'Nobody is above the law, including those who make and enforce the laws,' Winquist added. 'The officers who handled this investigation did so with fairness, integrity, and without preferential treatment.' Cranston, RI Police Department Statement

Quote II

“I think everything should be on the table. [Here’s] a Supreme Court that has been emboldened in rolling back the hands of time, undermining and rolling back what should be fundamental civil human rights. So everything should be on the table: reform and expansion Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-Mass.)

Quote III

“Now we will move at least closer to his dream, and a situation in which every child feels that the way to get into a school like Princeton is with real dedication and hard work.” Rabbi Yaakov Menken

Quote IV

"The sentences are all slaps on the wrist. These idiots pull these pranks for social media clout. They might get a $2,000 fine but they don't care about that. They just want exposure." Wildlife photographer Ed Bourvan

The USA is a great country. No don't ask the J6 Political Prisoners. Ask the Russian Merchant of Death.

Former arms dealer, Viktor Bout, better known as the “Merchant of Death,” who was traded for WNBA star Brittney Griner, has been tapped by a so-called far-right political party in Russia to run for office in the regional legislature.

Oh FFS!

Some US cities are replacing 4th of July fireworks with environmentally friendly drones

Fire threats and environmental concerns have prompted some US cities to forego traditional Fourth of July fireworks in favor of spectacular drone light shows this year.

Salt Lake City, Utah, tried out the alternative way of celebrating Independence Day on Saturday with its first-ever drone show.

The city’s mayor, Erin Mendenhall, said in a news release the new format marked an effort to minimize the area’s “high fire danger” and to lessen air quality problems caused by pyrotechnics.

Possible hate crime? Had this vandalism occurred at a mosques loud speakers you know damn well it would be a hate crime. A cross on private property not so much.

Cross cut down at Santiago Retreat Center in Silverado Canyon, investigators looking for suspect

I wonder where RI State Senator Joshua Miller was.

My observation and a guess. Most bicyclists I see believe the road belongs to them and they have no rules to follow. My guess is that most accidents involving cars and bikes the biker was negligent.

Meet the Guerrilla Bike Activists Installing Bootleg Infrastructure for Safer Streets

Cars are killing pedestrians and cyclists at a historic rate. Meet the activists fighting back one cinder block at a time.

I stood on the corner of a neighborhood in Chicago’s South Side and wondered if I had made a mistake—well, two mistakes. The first was whether I arrived at the right place to meet my contact John, whom I had never met before and who was intentionally vague about where we were meeting. The second was whether I should be doing this in the first place. After all, it was definitely illegal—and potentially dangerous.

Footsteps echoed to my right. I turned half expecting a cop to be asking me what I was doing on an empty street corner in the South Side at night—but, instead, I saw a tall man walk towards me wearing dark clothes and a mask. This could be good or very bad, I thought. I placed my bet on it being good.

“Hey,” he said. “Tony from The Daily Beast?”

Oh get off my lawn..... I remember life before Subway and gasoline was .23/gallon and some guy pumped it for me and cleaned my windshield.

‘What happened to my $5 footlong?’: Customer slams Subway after paying $15 for 6-inch sub and 2 cookies
'I remember you used to get a 6 inch sub and lemonade for $5.'

Suck it up Buttercup.

And this my friends why I would never vote for Chris Christie.

In a game of word association, Christie branded China as “evil,” and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez as “crazy.”

Christie called Bridgegate — a scandal that involved top Christie aides allegedly colluding to create traffic jams on the George Washington Bridge as political payback — a “mistake.” Election fraud? “Nonexistent in 2020.”

An exciting trip to the supermarket. Genius Award Winner.

A man is injured after police said he accidentally shot himself in a grocery store in Manchester on Saturday.

Officers were called to the Stop & Shop parking lot on Broad Street around 6:15 p.m. after getting a report from a man who said he shot himself.

According to police, the 23-year-old man sustained a gunshot wound from an accidental discharge of a gun he was carrying while in the store.

The man transported himself to Hartford Hospital and was in stable condition.

It's unclear if he is facing any charges in connection to the incident.
