I...I...I know all of those words, but they don't make any sense in that order. I mean, they do because I read the article, but it's just a bizarre situation. How do you guys feel about the sub? I'm sorry they died, and I hope their first inkling of any problems was the implosion itself (At those depths, the implosion would have occurred in about a millisecond, and the human nervous system take at least 150 milliseconds to process sensory input. They would literally have not known what hit them). The celebrations from some folks over the tragedy is baffling to me.

The Real Story of “The Central Park Karen”

Amy Cooper was not the internet’s first “Karen” — the pejorative used for a demanding, entitled white woman. But as the Central Park dog walker who called the police on a black birdwatcher last year, she quickly became the paragon of the archetype. In a video that went instantly viral, we watch as she summons law enforcement to protect her from the man, whose race she mentions three times in a matter of moments: “I’m going to tell them there’s an African-American man threatening my life.” Just over a minute long, the video flooded social media alongside a second one filmed that same day: the horrifying footage of a Minneapolis police officer kneeling on the neck of a man named George Floyd. The conflation of these two stories in the public imagination began almost immediately — and not without cause. The Central Park video looked really bad.  Many accused Amy Cooper of “weaponizing white tears.” They said she was deliberately attempting to sic racist cops on the birdwatcher, Christian Cooper (no relation). Comparisons to Emmett Till were instant.

There's a Parasite That Triples Ants' Lifespans… And It Actually Sounds Pretty Great

Hosting a parasitic tapeworm isn't usually a desirable state. But the life of an infected ant known as Temnothorax nylanderi hits differently.
Suppose an ant of this species nibbles on some woodpecker poop as a young larva and contracts a tapeworm (Anomotaenia brevis). It could end up living three times longer than its peers, if not more, and it will rarely have to move a mandible.
Uninfected ants will do the worker's chores, carry it around, feed it, and groom it for the rest of its days. These pampered ants barely leave the nest.
A team of researchers led by entomologist Susanne Foitzik at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Germany has now figured out a possible explanation for this strangely idyllic lifestyle.
When a tapeworm sets up shop in the gut of an ant, it appears to pump antioxidants and other proteins into the creature's bloodstream.
It's still unclear what health effects these special proteins have, but there's a real chance they are part of what helps infected ants stay young and yummy.

The author HAS to be a Marxist. Only a Marxist would classify being infected with a parasite that makes you sit around doing nothing while others are forced to care for your needs while weaking the society as a whole as “Sounds pretty great”.

Of course in the ant's case it's so they can be more easily eaten by a predator. Hmmm. Soylent Green is Marxists, anyone? Might as well get some use out of 'em.
