The Quotes of The Day

Quote I

“The family is horrified at the fact that throughout this process, they’ve been kept in the dark by the prosecution,” Maurica Manyan family attorney Chelsea Lewis said.

Quote II

“We don’t need to be searching for viruses that may never interact with man. And it’s worse than that. They bring viruses that we may never interact with, they bring them back to the lab, but then they manipulate them by combining them with other viruses to create viruses that don’t exist in nature,” Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY)

Quote III

Our troops want to be part of a winning organization. I was in the Gulf War, and I gotta say, it felt pretty awesome even though I basically ran a heavily armed carwash. But we knew we were the best, not because of officers mouthing endless clichés about “lethality” and “readiness” but because we knew what we could do. We need that winning attitude back. We need our military to earn once again the respect of the American people such that young Americans are ready to serve in adequate numbers. Kurt Schlichter

I might be "old fashioned". But my house works, even if it isn't Smart.

Earlier this month, Amazon locked a man out of his account, disrupting his extensive smart home system. The suspension was driven by a delivery driver who claimed the man used a racial slur through his automated doorbell system. The only problem is that the man captured the entire interaction on his security system — the communication to the worker was an automated greeting of, “Excuse me, can I help you?”

In a post to Medium, Brandon Jackson outlined how his smart home system was disrupted by a week-long lockout from his Amazon account.
