MORNING RANT: The Gender Charade & The Climate Hoax - Politeness and Accommodation Are Gateway Drugs to Evil

I read two important pieces in quick succession this past week, one by Megyn Kelly about her refusal to play along with the gender charade any longer, and the other by Michael Walsh about the evil of the climate hoax.

Though their subjects are different, both issues are ripping at the fabric of western civilization, and both are being advanced by the same institutionalized structures which have so much political and economic power.

The lesson from each is applicable to the other, specifically that politely playing along with these mass psychoses has the effect of endorsing and enabling their diabolical inhumanity.

Let me first highlight a few paragraphs from Michael Walsh’s column “Hoax of the Millenium” at The Pipeline.

But the "climate movement" bids fair to undo everything Western man has accomplished in the fields of science, technology, and religion and replace it with a savage new primitivism that is both inhuman and godless.

I frequently refer to those pushing the climate agenda as being members of The Sustainable Organic Church of the Carbon Apocalypse due to its religiosity, but it is not a religion which promises salvation or eternal life. The climate church promises deprivation and mass death.

You are being lied to on a massive scale by a quasi-Marxist mass-suicide cult -- think Jonestown on a global scale -- in order that you lower your standard of living, rid yourself of all earthly possessions, abandon your expectations for the future, stop having children, cease all consumption, and disappear from planet Earth.

Humans are inherently religious, perhaps because those behaviors which helped perpetuate our survival (e.g. family, fidelity, thrift, industriousness, etc.) were generally adopted as religious tenets. But religions can get really off track too, with human sacrifice sometimes becoming a core sacrament.

The left’s hostility to “religion” is really just hostility to Christianity, and as Mr. Walsh explains, having killed off Christianity in much of Europe and America, the climate church has quickly filled its void.

The decline of traditional Christianity, the cornerstone of the European-American West, has gone hand in hand with the rise of its prospective replacement, a perverted and obscene form of dictatorial nature worship, which has induced an entirely unnecessary guilt trip over real and imagined sins against other cultures that now use their very lack of achievements in the sciences and the arts as a j'accuse against the West.

Now to Megyn Kelly. She is a polite person who finally realized that polite affirmation of something that should not be affirmed is extremely harmful. ”I'm Done With The Trans Pronoun Charade, I Didn't See The Harm”

She lists several examples of how on her NBC show she supported agenda items such as preferred pronouns, and allowing “trans women” into girls’ bathrooms, and allowing “trans kids” to own who they are, and validating that gender is just a social construct, etc. In each case, Ms. Kelly states, “I didn’t see the harm.”

But then she started to see the harm.

By the time we began The Megyn Kelly Show podcast in September 2020, the warning signs were everywhere.

Abigail Shrier had written her beautiful and immensely important book, "Irreversible Damage," documenting the social contagion sweeping teenage and adolescent girls - a group that, traditionally, had very few members claiming gender dysphoria but was quickly on its way to having more than any other.

Teenage girls in Connecticut were losing on the track to males – runners who had raced as boys the year before, then simply declared themselves female and dominated their new competitors.

I had the female runners on the show, along with a trans medical physicist who was also a former athlete to explain the advantages to trans athletes, especially post-puberty.

When I slipped and said the trans girls were "biological males," this person told me that was offensive. I explained that it was an attempt at clarity but began to re-think the language policing. Why did I have to deny reality in order to be polite? What I said was true and not offered to offend. But I wanted to be respectful.

There is a part of me that is a little cynical about Ms. Kelly’s political flexibility. She seemed to have taken a sharp left turn when she departed Fox for NBC, and now she’s turned back to the right. Of course, her new friends in the liberal media were quick to abandon Ms. Kelly when the left-wing outrage mob came after her for stating that there just might be a distinction between a racist wearing blackface and a fan wearing a costume of a celebrity. NBC canceled her, and perhaps Ms. Kelly getting mugged by reality helped push her back to the right.

A Venn diagram showing the intersection of the activists who demanded Ms. Kelly be cancelled and the activists pushing the gender agenda is a perfect circle. Ms. Kelly certainly understands now just how dishonest and wicked these people are.

It is beyond time to stand up to the trans lobby that means to deprive women of their spaces and rights. To the men who pose as trans women to gain access to places like sorority houses only to exploit the women strong-armed into welcoming them.

To the men who grow their hair long, throw on a dress, pop on their TikTok filter and then threaten to kill us if we object to them coming into our private spaces.

To the mutilation of our children by money-driven doctors and the rape of our imprisoned sisters and the theft of our medals and opportunities to win.

The most important point Kelly makes is that being accommodating and politely embracing the gender language is to be complicit in the gender agenda.

How can we stand up to any of this if we are complicit? How can we fight for facts if we participate in this fiction that a man *can* become a woman, that "transitioning" is possible.

And then we try to say no, "she" cannot come into our locker rooms or bathrooms or swimming lanes or sororities?

We try to say no, Target, "she" can buy "her" bathing suit with the extra fabric to hide "her penis" in some other store? It doesn't make sense.

Because it isn't true. And we know it's not true. And to pretend that it is true is to foster a lie that's hurting too many people - almost all of them, girls. Women and girls.

She calls pronouns a “gateway drug” and makes the ironic point that the primary victims of the left’s gender agenda are women and children.

There is much more, and well worth the read, but Ms. Kelly closes with a bold repudiation of the pronoun nonsense, and with a powerful statement of contrition:

But I will not take this gateway drug anymore. Because I have a daughter. Because I am a woman - an adult human female.

Because for far too long, I failed to see the harm and therefore helped cause it.

What Ms. Kelly has stated about the gender agenda applies just as much to the climate agenda, and any other anti-civilizational agenda pushed by the left.

There is nothing praiseworthy, and much that is dangerous, in the language and sacraments of the climate cult.

“Sustainable”
“Renewable”
“Net Zero”
“Green”
“Clean Energy”
“Zero Emission”
“Energy Transition”
”Organic”
“Carbon Neutral”
“Carbon Offset”

Using terms like these in any way but with disgust is to endorse the starvation and death for which these words are gateway drugs.

Let’s end today’s piece with one last word from Mr. Walsh’s column. These three short sentences brilliantly capture so much theology and wisdom, and how they relate to the climate cult we are battling.

Carbon, to put a theological point on it, is the breath of God that animated the clay of Adam and turned him into a man. To attack "carbon" as an evil is to attack yourself; to eliminate carbon is to eliminate humanity. And make no mistake: this is precisely the goal of the "climate-change" movement. [Michael Walsh]
