Alvin Bragg Charges Law-Abiding Man for Attempted Murder, For Shooting a Thief Who Shot Him Twice
Then Announces He's Dropping Charges

These are the priorities of a Soros Prosecutor -- prosecute a president, prosecute a man for defending his own life.

He's only not prosecuting this guy because he realizes that prosecuting a man who defended his own life against a violent thief would make his political prosecution look even worse.

Recall that he was fully prepared to prosecute that bodega owner who killed his own attacker, and held him at Rikers for almost a week, and only dropped the charges when public opinion turned savagely against him.

And he would have sent this guy to Rikers too -- but he's worried about optics, given that he's criminalizing a non-criminal act in the Trump case.

A Manhattan parking garage attendant who was shot twice while confronting an alleged thief -- then wrestled the gun away and opened fire on the suspect -- has been charged with attempted murder, police said.

The thief shot this man twice. He wrestled the gun away and then shot at the thief.

Bragg charged him with attempted murder.

Bragg is acting as a mafioso kingpin, protecting the criminals of the city, and vengefully prosecuting anyone who defies his legions of Street Capos.

The overnight worker, identified by cops as Moussa Diarra, 57, was also hit with assault and criminal possession of a weapon charge in the Saturday incident, which unfolded around 5:30 a.m. as the attendant saw a man peering into cars on the second floor of the West 31st Street garage, the sources said.

He was in "criminal possession" of a weapon... when he wrestled the gun away from a thief who had shot him with it twice.

Bragg is laying down his own illegal law: If a criminal wants to rob you or kill you or r@pe yhou, You must gladly allow him to do so.

Believing the man was stealing, the attendant brought him outside and asked what was inside his bag.

Instead of cooperating, the man pulled out a gun, the sources said.

Diarra tried to grab for the weapon, and it went off -- leaving him shot in the stomach and grazed in the ear by a bullet before he turned the firearm on the would-be thief and shot him in the chest, sources said.

...

The initial charges against Diarra sparked outrage -- and recalled the case of Manhattan bodega clerk Jose Alba, who was charged with murder after a fatal July 1 confrontation in his store with an angry customer who came behind his counter and accosted him.

Family friend Mariame Diarra, who is not related to the attendant, slammed the decision to hit the married dad of two with charges.

"That's self-defense. The guy tried to rob his business," she told The Post. "He's there for security. That's literally his job, to defend his business. ... He takes his job seriously. ... Attempted murder charge has no place there. He [robber] came to find him at his job with his gun, he [Diarra] has to defend himself."

An individual who works nearby the garage, which is across from Moynihan Train Station, was also incredulous.

"You are kidding. That's an April Fool Day joke, right?" the worker asked of the charges against Diarra, adding, "How can a hardworking man get arrested for defending himself?"

Bragg has now announced that he won't go forward with another lawless, evil prosecution.

But again: Only because of the current optics. If this had happened during a period when he wasn't prosecuting Trump, he would prosecute this hero.

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg will not prosecute the parking-garage attendant who shot a suspected thief after getting wounded himself, the DA's office told The Post on Sunday.

Moussa Diarra, 57, was shot twice by alleged thief Charles Rhodie, 59, early Saturday before turning the tables on the suspect and pumping a bullet into him with the accused criminal's handgun, authorities said.

Yet cops charged Diarra with attempted murder, assault and gun possession in the case, while Rhodie was slapped with those three raps as well as burglary.

But Bragg -- who is already under fire for indicting former President Donald Trump last week in a fraud-related case -- will dismiss the case against Diarra "pending further investigation," his office said.

Ah. "Pending further investigation" -- reserving the right to prosecute this guy if Trump gets the charges against him dismissed.

The raps remain against Rhodie, who police sources say has at least 20 prior arrests, mostly for petit larceny, with the most recent one occurring in 2018. Diarra has no priors, sources said.

This NY Post opinion piece notes Bragg's protection of criminals, and prosecution of victims.

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg announced on taking office he would not prosecute even some very violent crimes.

Almost immediately after he distributed his now-infamous Day One memo, two police officers were killed and a few others shot.

A 19-year-old girl was shot and killed working at a Harlem Burger King.

He is incompetent, and we knew this would happen -- I and others warned of it during the campaign.

And that was way before he woke up one day and decided a former US president is one of the few people he would actually prosecute.

Things have not gotten better, only progressively worse (pun intended).

In his first year, Bragg downgraded 52% of felonies to misdemeanors -- compared with 39% downgraded in 2019 -- and had a dismal 51% conviction rate for felonies he did charge.

No one is safer as he promised as a result of his delusion and diversions.

Bragg released a woman who participated in the brutal killing of a US veteran on time served after only 14 months.

In Alvin Bragg's New York, you can literally get away with murder.

But don't you dare defend yourself or his office will prosecute you as the criminal while treating your attacker as the victim -- just as he did with bodega clerk Jose Alba, who ended up fleeing Gotham for the safety of the Dominican Republic.

A customer's boyfriend attacked Alba after the woman refused to pay for a bag of chips.

She also stabbed Alba, who in self-defense grabbed a knife and ultimately killed the boyfriend.

Guess who was the only person to face charges in that case?

Not the woman who stabbed Alba. Only Alba, the victim, was charged.

Alvin Bragg is not a champion for the little guy. He is no hero. He is a criminal enabler.

Plain and simple.

...

He says he doesn't have enough "resources" to make sure New Yorkers don't get killed by taking very violent people off the streets.

Yet he has the resources to prosecute a former president on charges everyone else decided he couldn't be prosecuted for?

We have four city district attorneys with the same public-defender mentality.

They pride themselves on overturning "wrongful" convictions of gang members and murderers.
