The Quotes of The Day

Quote I

"We know that our entire school community is as stunned as we were by this news. The district will cooperate with law enforcement and cannot comment any further on the pending investigation. We will continue to do everything possible to keep our students’ safety, needs, and education first and foremost" National School District superintendent Leighangela Brady

Quote II

“I think it did not only come from NIH, but from the State Department, USAID, and DOD. Remember this pandemic did not start in January at the seafood market. We all know that there were infections all the way back in September [2019].” Former CDC Director Dr. Robert Redfield

I love my country and loath unelected bureaucrats

Quote III

“It was the result of a faulty transmitter and the homeowner not comparing their paper invoice usage reading with the actual meter in their basement. It is hoped that homeowners will check their meters to confirm the bills accuracy.” East Brunswick business administrator Joseph Criscuolo

My initial introduction was rephrased. Somebody in upper management would have banned me. And the elites such as Joe Biden, Chuck Schumer, Mitch McConnell, Mitt Romney, Et al. wonder why ordinary Americans hate them with all of their being.

Democrat President Joe Biden’s administration is advancing plans to usher in a “digital ID” system that seeks to gather and store data on all Americans.

The plan was revealed in the Biden admin’s 2023 National Security Strategy (NSS).

Among other points, the NSS calls for increased taxpayer funding to invest in digital IDs.

The White House is short on detail regarding this issue and privacy implications, however.

Nevertheless, the NSS does mention the Chinese Communist Party-style “biometrics” at least once.

We've all heard of Help Hotlines. Here is a Quitter's Hotline.

Bound for the battlefield, sounding harried and anxious, the Russian soldier placed a hasty phone call — to a Ukrainian military hotline.

“They say you can help me surrender voluntarily, is that right?” asked the serviceman, explaining that he was soon to be deployed near the southern Ukrainian city of Kherson.

“When Ukrainian soldiers come, do I just kneel down, or what? Do you promise not to film me while this is happening?”

As more and more Baby Boomers hit the ranks of retired. And Gen Z enters into the field of management, will their ilk return to the office? Time will tell.

Shark Tank investor Kevin O’Leary says Gen Z has ‘no intention’ of ever coming to the office. He’s almost definitely wrong

The pandemic has given life to a new generation of workers who have “no intention” of working in an office, says Kevin O’Leary, billionaire investor and Shark Tank star.

“They never have, they never will. People keep saying, ‘Oh, they’re gonna all come back.’ They’re not,” O’Leary told CNN on Friday. Nearly half of the workers across O’Leary’s venture portfolio work remotely, he said, adding that “they ain’t coming into the office, period. That’s it. That’s just the way it’s gonna be.”

But countless data shows that Mr. Wonderful might be slightly off the mark. He’s not wrong about younger workers’ interest in working remotely: The past three years have given Gen Z a reputation for being noncommittal, disloyal, or flighty toward their workplaces, but they really just want more autonomy. Much data suggests that they’ve led the Great Resignation, job-hopping mere months after starting work in search of better pay, more flexibility, and more comprehensive benefits.

To be honest, I worked remotely before most of these little snow flakes were born.

Copy cat attempts to be Cocaine Bear.

Cocaine Bear is not alone, it seems.

An exotic feline that was spotted high up on a tree in the dark of night is giving off cocaine cat vibes.

Dog wardens responded to reports of a leopard on a tree in the Oakley neighborhood of Cincinnati, Ohio. Cell phone video showed a cat with a spotted golden coat and large ears perched on a tree branch. Officials, suspecting it was a F1 Savannah house cat, managed to capture it and took it to an animal shelter.

Cincinnati Animal CARE ran some tests on the cat and found out its species – which wasn’t even the biggest surprise. It was found to have cocaine in its system.

I'm not a fan of Kid Rock's music. But I do enjoy his attitude at times. This is one of those times.

Kid Rock Tells ‘Woke’ Left to Pound Sand, Announces New Shows Called ‘No Snowflakes Summer Concert’

Music legend Kid Rock has told the “woke” Left to go pound sand while announcing a new limited city run of arena concerts this summer.

Rock made the announcement on social media where he dubbed the short run of shows the “No Snowflakes Summer Concert.”

RIP Gary Rossington

Gary Rossington, the last remaining original member of Lynyrd Skynyrd, has died of unspecified causes at the age of 71. The guitarist had overcome several health battles in recent years.

"It is with our deepest sympathy and sadness that we have to advise, that we lost our brother, friend, family member, songwriter and guitarist, Gary Rossington, today," the band wrote in an official statement. "Gary is now with his Skynyrd brothers and family in heaven and playing it pretty, like he always does. Please keep Dale, Mary, Annie and the entire Rossington family in your prayers and respect the family’s privacy at this difficult time."

It's unclear if Lynyrd Skynyrd will continue without the guitarist. Their longest-tenured member is now Johnny Van Zant, who began singing in place of his late brother Ronnie Van Zant in 1987. Rickey Medlocke, with Lynyrd Skynyrd again since 1996, also had a brief stint with the group in 1971–72.

Math + "Sleeper Holds" = Genius Award Winner.

I enjoy the warm and fuzzy Tonight's Feel Good Story of The Day.

Armed homeowner shoots naked stranger who attacked him with frying pan

A homeowner in rural Virginia will not face charges after defending himself from an unwanted and unexpected visit from a stark-naked stranger who recently tried to break into his home and assault him with a cast-iron frying pan.

Authorities in Carroll County, Virginia say the incident happened on the evening of Sunday, February 26th when the homeowner heard a noise coming from the rear of his home. When the man went to investigate, he spotted the unknown woman in her birthday suit coming through his door frying pan in hand. The woman repeatedly managed to hit the man in both his head and one of his hands before he was able to push her out of the house and lock the back door, but the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office reports that didn’t stop the woman from once again trying to gain entry.
