CNN Looking to Put a Leftwing Clown -- I Mean, a Professional Clown -- On the Air from 9pm to 11pm Every Night to Do "News" "Comedy"
A CNN "News" "Comedy" "show" will be neither news, nor comedy, nor a show. Do you agree or disagree? Use examples from your own reading and experience to defend your position.
CNN is looking to copy Fox's Gutfeld show and launch its own "comedy" venture and, surprise, their list of potential hosts are exclusively leftwing.
They're going to put the "comedy" show in primetime -- for two hours.
As the network continues to revamp after Chairman and CEO Chris Licht's takeover, CNN is reportedly looking for a comedian to fill the hours of 9:00 p.m.-11:00 p.m.
"They're looking for their version of John Oliver," a source told one outlet.
Well if that's your standard of excellence...
Five sources relayed to one outlet that CNN executives have proposed the likes of Bill Maher, Trevor Noah, Arsenio Hall, and Jon Stewart for the role, all of whom have late-night experience.
The network is reportedly looking to prime-time and late-night talk shows that focus on news topics for insight.
...
According to insiders, CNN is looking to compete less with MSNBC, providing content solely for politically inclined and left-leaning people, and instead dabbling with content for the audiences of HGTV, ESPN, and Netflix.
Two conclusions:
1, they're desperate. Obviously they're desperate if their big idea is to copy NBC's debacle in putting Jay Leno on in primetime. Except they won't even have Jay Leno. At best they'll have a Trevor Noah or Samantha Bee.
2, they're just straight-up admitting they're not in the news business, they're in the business of providing affirtainment ( "entertainment" by affirmation) for TV-and-Twitter-addicted leftists.
