Saturday Morning Coffee Break & End Of Year Prayer Revival

Another year of Saturday Morning Coffee Break Threads are coming to an end. Unfortunately, The Coffee Break added the Prayer Request feature due to the passing of OregonMuse.

I'm happy to continue OM's fine contribution until some other Cob comes along and replaces me.

Just a few friendly reminders and perhaps a New Year's Resolution or 3.

1) This is an open thread, opine and/or bloviate away your morning.
2) Be kind to one another even the trolls. But don't cut and past their fecal matter.
3) You still have today and tomorrow to run with sharp objects or play with explosives until your deductible starts all over again.
4) Have a wonderful weekend. And just remember a Saturday New Year's Eve has plenty of amateurs out there. Be careful.

AoSHQ Weekly Prayer List

Please submit any prayer requests to me, “Annie’s Stew” at apaslo atsign hotmail dot com. Prayer requests are generally removed after four weeks unless we receive an update.

Prayer Requests:

12/3 – Village Idiot’s Apprentice could use prayer. The good news is, his eye surgery is healing normally, and should continue to improve over the next weeks and months. The not-so-good news is that he has had an abnormal rise in PSA, which shows a probably recurrence of prostate cancer, after his surgery 13 years ago. He will have a PSMA PET scan soon at Walter Reed.

12/3 – Backtoga sends thanks to God, that his father has a better-than-expected path for treatment of his cancer.
Update – The prognosis is that the oral medications will shrink the cancer. As the doctor put it, it will not be the thyroid cancer that kills him!

12/4 – CT asked for prayers, that the Horde would be there for him. He found his older brother, Joel, dead in his bed. The EMTs worked on him for 10 minutes and took him to the hospital, but he never recovered. Joel was CT’s best friend and a wonderful brother – self-sacrificing and supportive. So many people depended on him, and now he’s gone. CT is hurting so much.

12/6 – Madamemayhem asked for prayers for her neighbor’s son, K, who works with horses. He was backing a horse up, when it reared up and fell on top of him. K is in ICU with his back broken in 3 places and bone chips in his muscles. Prayers for recovery are appreciated.

12/20 – DB sends prayers of thanks. Her co-worker, a runner who had several of the “vaccine” clot shots, nearly died of blood clots in his heart and lungs. A prayer group came together, and when the co-worker went in for surgery, the clots were all gone.

12/21 – Helena Handbasket asks for prayers for her mother, who is going in for surgery (again and hopefully for the last time), and for herself, to be able to get her there and take care of the house stuff that needs to be done.

12/23 – Coelacanth asked for prayers for his son. After a lot of struggles and prayers, the son has come back to the family and to faith. He’s gotten a great job in his engineering field. However, his thesis, approved by his main professor, was utterly rejected. Three years of work and a 3.9 GPA was rejected. The son is heartbroken, but his faith is sustaining him. He even prayed for his professors. Please pray that this can be rectified. And thanks to all who prayed for him last year.

12/24 – weirdflunky needs prayers for her brother, Ref. He is in the hospital with end stage liver disease. He was admitted last week and given 3 months to live. His only hope is a transplant, for which he ineligible. His wife died of Covid in 2020 and he went crazy. He moved to FL and (basically) killed himself. weirdflunky is hearbroken.

12/25 – FortWorthMike sends an update on his grand-niece, Chloe, the toddler we have been praying for. She has received the kidney transplant she needed! Chloe and the donor are both doing well. FortWorthMike thanks the horde with all his heart for all the prayers!

12/28 – Jane D’oh asks for prayers for her husband. He is in critical condition in the ICU. He has double pneumonia that came on very suddenly, as he walked to his car after work. He has no signs of heart issues or blood clots.
12/29 Update – There have been complications (after some earlier good news today), and Jane and her husband really need prayers. As they removed the vent, his trachea collapsed, causing two air sacs to form in his lungs, which then burst. His heart stopped for 3 minutes, and he was put back on the vent. He is sedated now. Jane is full of hope for his recovery, and very much appreciates the prayers.

12/29 – It’s me Donna requests prayers for her son-in-law. He ended up in the ER last night with heart palpitations. Her daughter is spending her birthday there.
Update – Her son-in-law is fine. It was a severe panic attack. They did tests so will see if there is anything else also occurring.

12/29 – Cybersmythe requests prayers for his friend D.C., an occasional reader of the AoSHQ, who is in the hospital after having a stroke and some other health issues.

26 In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. 27 And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.
