Kamala Harris made me Proud to Be an American for the First Time, Again, with another world salad speech, this one to young African leaders.

The speech was about Something.

And boy was it ever.

See what she does there with her arms at the end there? That's advanced kinesiology. She calls that Limb Mesmerism. She's making Ley Lines with her hands, yo.

Now, you might think that her line -- "We must be who we must be, unburdened by who we have been" -- is something so stupid she must have gotten it off the bottom of a Snapple cap just before that speech.

But you'd be wrong: This is, Kamala Harris feels, her signature line. Her "catchphrase," if you will. Her closer.

The fact that it is meaningless does not detract from the line. The enigmatic nature of the stupid words gives them their power, their profundity, their je ne sais queef.
