Disney is actually submitting Thor: Love and Thunder for Oscar consideration.

Thor: Love And Thunder has been submitted for Best Picture to Best Director (Waititi), Best Actor (Chris Hemsworth), Best Actress (Natalie Portman), and Best Adapted Screenplay. Disney is also pushing the film with Best Visual Effects. Turns out netizens have decided to bash the decision. A Twitter user wrote, "Thor Love and Thunder submission for oscars?? For Best picture, Best VFX and Best director?? Disney, tards or whoever's decision this is, please stop doing drugs. Maybe that film should get the oscars for the "Worst film ever made""

Another wrote, "Pretty comfortable calling thor love and thunder the worst film of the year, amazed disney has the balls to even say it in the same sentence as the word "oscar", let alone "best picture" or especially "best director""

The Washington Post has lost 500,000 subscribers since they participated in the plot to rig an election for Joe Biden, and they're on track to lose money this year.

The Washington Post has lost 500,000 subscribers in the nearly two years that former President Donald Trump has left office, according to a report.

The newspaper's subscription base dropped from 3 million to around 2.5 million since January 2021, or about a 20% decline in subscribers, according to a Thursday report from The Wall Street Journal.

It comes after The New York Times first reported in August that The Post is on track to lose money this year. The Times initially reported that The Post had fallen under 3 million subscribers and that its digital advertising revenue fell about $70 million -- or roughly 15% -- since the first half of 2021.

Zero Hedge: The Glorious Angel of Beauty and Desire, Carolyn Ellison, hired a DC insider law firm (which includes Disaster Artist Jamie Gorelick) and is negotiating with prosecutors to testify against former polycule paramour Sam Bankman-Fried.

A new TIPP poll finds that 71% of Americans say that if we'd had a legitimate, non-corrupt media that reported the Hunter Biden laptop story accurately, then Trump would have won a second term.

As Trump supporters -- and no doubt Trump, himself -- will likely use the latest survey as "proof" that the 2020 election was indeed "rigged" and "stolen," as my colleague Nick Arama reported in late August, the percentage of Americans who believed the election was altered stood at 79 percent, according to the New Jersey-based Technometrica Institute of Policy and Politics.

Among the findings of the new Tipp Insights poll, half of the respondents said they would've voted differently if they knew the laptop story was legit. Additionally, more than two-thirds of respondents said the FBI and the intelligence community deliberately misled the public by urging Facebook and Twitter to suppress Hunter Biden stories, which the FBI at the time arrogantly deemed foreign "disinformation." (Adam Schiff was unavailable for comment.)

The poll sampled 1,351 Americans from December 7-9 with a 4.5 percent margin of error. Among those who've followed the story, nearly two-thirds believe the details about Hunter Biden's sordid lifestyle of drugs, prostitutes, and overseas business dealings -- principally with Communist China -- are authentic. That includes 81 percent of Republican voters and 48 percent of Democrat voters.

That vindication might be as much consolation as Trump will get, as a new USAToday/Suffolk poll finds the GOP shifting its preference to DeSantis. And head-to-head matchups against Joe Biden show Trump losing, but DeSantis winning.

By 2-1, GOP and GOP-leaning voters now say they want Trump's policies but a different standard-bearer to carry them. While 31% want the former president to run, 61% prefer some other Republican nominee who would continue the policies Trump has pursued.

They have a name in mind: Two-thirds of Republicans and those inclined to vote Republican want Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis to run for president. By double digits, 56% to 33%, they prefer DeSantis over Trump.

"Republicans and conservative independents increasingly want Trumpism without Trump," said David Paleologos, director of the Suffolk University Political Research Center.

...

In July, 60% of Republicans wanted Trump to run again. In October, that number had dipped to 56%. Now it has fallen to 47%, an almost-even split with the 45% who don't want him to run for a third time.

The polls taken in July and December were of registered voters. The poll in October was of likely midterm voters.

Trump is viewed less favorably by his partisans as well. The percentage of Republicans who see him favorably has dropped from 75% in October to 64% in December. His unfavorable rating has risen to 23% from 18%.

I know, I know: the polls are rigged. But all this "rigged" stuff, from polls to senate election returns, is cross-validating and trying to tell us something.

The sub-sample for Republicans is only 374, with a margin of error of 5.1%. So that's not a great sub-sample size.

But the sample for head-to-head questions were of 1,000 people, with a margin of error of 3.1%.

Among all voters, Trump has fallen further behind President Joe Biden in a hypothetical head-to-head rematch. Now, Biden would win a general election matchup by 47% to 40%. (Because of the effects of rounding, Biden's margin is a bit wider than that indicates, at 7.8 points.) In October, Biden also led but by a narrower margin, 46%-42%.

...

While Biden now leads Trump, he trails DeSantis in a head-to-head race, with DeSantis at 47% and Biden at 43%.

Update: Trump is pushing this Morning Consult poll which shows him ahead of DeSantis in support among Republicans, 49% to 31%. That's still a big jump up for DeSantis. That (leftwing) poll also shows DeSantis doing slightly better than Trump against Biden. Biden beats Trump 43-41, while DeSantis ties it at 42-42.

Below, McConnell finds blame for our loss in the midterms everywhere except in his own repulsive cynicism.
