NBC "News'" Disinformation Specialist Ben Collins Spent the Last Week Claiming the Q Club Shooter Was a Right-Winger Driven to Hate Gays by Tucker Carlson.
Turns Out He's "Non-Binary." So Now Ben Collins Says He Was... Bullied to Kill by Right-Wingers.
Is it finally time for Elon Musk to ban Ben Collins and NBC "News"? They're the most disgraceful and unapologetic spreaders of disinformation on his platform.
And after having been caught pushing disinformation, they don't apologize. They just do a quick rewrite and begin pushing new disinformation.
For a week, we had to hear that Q Club shooter was a right-wing extremist Programmed to Kill by watching Tucker Carlson and Libs of TikTok, who taught him to hate gays and "groomers."
Here was Ben Collins demanding that reporters denounce Tucker Carlson and Libs of TikTok, unless they wanted to wake up to more dead gay people:
Here's Ben insisting the Q Club shooting was due to the Nazi-like "climate of hate" spurred by people pointing out grooming efforts by teachers and drag queens who insist on dancing for five year old children:
Now that it's been reported that the shooter uses they/them pronouns and identifies as "non-binary," Ben Collins' former disinformation narrative -- that he's a right-winger who hates transgenders due to Tucker Carlson and Libs of TikTok -- obviously won't hold up.
So what can we do? What can we do to keep the right-wing as the Designated Villains (TM)? What Narrative Shift can we undertake?
Oh, Ben Collins just had a smart idea! He'll dig up some old tweets claiming this freak was "bullied" sometime in his past by the impliedly right-wing "hate-site" Encyclopaedia Dramatica (they're not "right-wing," they're edgelords without any real politics except mean humor about anyone they find mockable on the internet, and they're not really a "hate-site," because they do not hate any particular race or creed), and just say, "See, this poor Non-Binary Angel was driven to desperation by cruel right-wing 'hate-sites' and their relentless bullying!"
Ben Collins
@oneunderscore__
Encyclopedia Dramatica, the hate site that compiled years of records of online bullying of the Colorado Springs' suspect, updated the page when they realized Aldrich had an entry for years, adding Aldrich "SHOT UP A GAY BAR BECAUSE HE WAS TIRED OF ALL THE 'HARRASSMENT'!"
Did he "have an entry for years" due to his previous arrest for threatening his mother with a homemade bomb? That tends to get you some online mockery, Ben.
Is that unfair?

Ben has a habit of taking the title of "disinformation reporter" a little too literally.
Even leftwing Nate Silver has had it up to his neck with Disinformation spreader Ben Collins and the entire "Disinformation" bureaucracy:

Mastodon seems like a honeytrap for hall-monitor personality types. Honestly if Elon gets all the hall monitors to migrate to Mastodon that might be his greatest contribution toward the betterment of humanity.
I'm not kidding. This is not a "What if we did it too" argument. I'm serious -- I want him and NBC banned from Twitter.
They should be the first to be subjected to their rules for disinformation, not the last.
You lie repeatedly in service to a grotesque political agenda, you get banned. Done and done.
