Fetterman: I'll Do One Debate. Maybe. Someday.
Update: Tucker Carlson's Ten Minute Biography on Fetterman Added

Fetterman claims he'll do a debate with Mehmet Oz, but this seems like BS, just to get people to stop questioning his ability to debate. Because this supposed offer of a debate is written on fog. It's deliberately vague and subject to caveats and prerequisites.

John Fetterman said he is committing [Is he?] to attending one debate with his Republican opponent, Mehmet Oz, in the closely watched battle for the Senate in Pennsylvania, but his campaign is still discussing accommodations for his auditory processing problems.

The announcement comes as Oz has ramped up pressure on Fetterman, who suffered a stroke in May, to agree to a series of debates beginning in early September.

"We're absolutely going to debate Dr. Oz, and that was really always our intent to do that," Fetterman told POLITICO in an exclusive interview. "It was just simply only ever been about addressing some of the lingering issues of the stroke, the auditory processing, and we're going to be able to work that out."

You'll never be able to "work that out" so it will never happen. This is all a lie.

Fetterman declined to specify which debate he will attend or provide an exact date for it, though he said it will "be sometime in the middle to end of October" on a "major television station" in the state.

Uh-huh.

He also said that the campaign is looking at the possibility of using a closed captioning monitor for the event so that he does not miss any words as he continues to recover from his stroke.

"We're just exploring that," he said of the closed captioning. "I have every ability to talk about all of these issues and have a full debate. And that's really just the one lingering issue of the stroke -- that some of my hearing was damaged a little bit, but it's continuing to get better and better and better every day."

Will the "closed captioning system" be something that only you can see? Will your aides be able to provide you with "closed captioning" answers to questions?

Oz, who is trailing Fetterman in the polls, has for weeks sought to portray the Democrat as skipping debates either because he can't defend his record or is too ill to go onstage. The attacks have sometimes been ugly, with one Oz aide saying that Fetterman might not have suffered a stroke if he'd ever eaten vegetables, a statement that the celebrity doctor later distanced himself from.

Oh, it was an aide who said that? They way this big fat unemployed derelict whined about it, I thought it was Oz himself who must have said that.

The timing of Fetterman's sketchy "commitment" to do one debate should also be noted: He wants to do it (supposedly) late in the campaign season, when early voting, especially by Democrats, will have been going on already for weeks.

Fetterman's hometown paper, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, is finally raising the obvious issue: Is this fat mentally-impaired slob even up to working any jobs, let alone serving as Senator?

Democrat John Fetterman's hometown newspaper questioned the Pennsylvania Senate hopeful's "ability to serve" after he pulled out of a debate with Republican Mehmet Oz, citing his recovery from a stroke earlier this year.

In a scathing editorial, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette said Fetterman's refusal to debate raises "legitimate concerns" about his health. "Voters have a right to know whether their prospective senator can do the job--including handling the give-and-take of a vigorous debate," the editorial board said.

...

Fetterman's recovery has been far slower than expected. While his campaign initially said he would be back on the campaign trail "soon" after his stroke, he has made only a few public appearances and done even fewer interviews. Fetterman has relied heavily on his wife Gisele during those events. She sat by his side during an MSNBC interview last week, his first national interview since his stroke. Gisele was also spotted on Monday intervening as Fetterman was asked whether he would debate Oz.

Oz has made Fetterman's criminal justice reform policies a focal point of his campaign. On Tuesday, he cited the Washington Free Beacon's report that Fetterman cast the only vote on the board of pardons to release Wayne Covington, who was convicted of first-degree murder for killing a man while stealing money for heroin. Fetterman voted to free Covington last year, against the wishes of the victim's family.

The retiring liberal Senator Pat Toomey endorsed Oz, and also noted that Fetterman was running a campaign from his basement.

Toomey, who endorsed Oz after declining to support a candidate in the bruising Republican primary, urged Fetterman to face his rival on the debate stage.

"You have one candidate, Dr. Oz, who very much wants to engage in a robust debate about the [campaigns'] differences, discuss policies and the implications for Pennsylvanians," Toomey said. "And then you have another candidate, John Fetterman, who's doing everything possible to avoid debating those differences.

"John Fetterman sits at home, does social media all day ][and] he raises tons of money from liberals in California and New York," he added.

I think we've had enough of candidates in semi-vegetative states campaigning from their basements, and having the media serving as their spokesmen.

A pro-Oz group just released an ad noting that this fat, lazy slob who has lived with his parents and collected an allowance from them for most of his "adult" life, once grabbed a shotgun and pointed it at a black jogger because he heard gunshots and assumed the black guy must have been the perp.

The jogger, by the way, was innocent of any crime.

But I guess Fetterman just felt something about the jogger's appearance made him suspicious, and indicated a penchant for criminal behavior.

A political committee supporting Pennsylvania Republican Senate candidate Mehmet Oz is out with a new ad geared toward Black voters highlighting a 2013 incident in which Democratic Senate candidate John Fetterman pulled a gun on a Black jogger he mistakenly thought committed a crime.

The 30-second ad, which was released by American Leadership Action, cites the incident that took place when Fetterman was mayor of Braddock, Pa. The spot includes clips of a local news interview with the jogger Fetterman confronted, as well as Fetterman himself.

"I believe I did the right thing but I may have broken the law during the course of it," Fetterman says in a clip from a 2013 interview.

The ad wraps by calling Fetterman "reckless," "risky" and "wrong for Pennsylvania."

The $500,000 ad campaign, which was first reported by NBC News, is airing on networks with robust Black viewership including the Oprah Winfrey Network, Black Entertainment Television, ESPN, and NBC. Additionally, NBC reported that the group has also rolled out a 15-second digital ad that will reach Black voters online.

BTW, where would a jogger hide a gun on his body?

Didn't we just prosecute two men for shooting a black jogger? Who, by the way, was in fact a thief only posing as a jogger?

But now the Democrats are going to vote for a guy who did the same thing? (He didn't shoot the jogger, but the threat was there. The jogger just didn't flee, and permitted the false arrest. If he had run, Fetterman would have shot him.)

I believe this is why:

Tucker Carlson ran down Fetterman's background as a rich but aimless Trust Fund Bitch who has reinvented himself even more deceptively than my personal hero Robert Francis O'Rourke -- as a blue collar workin' man, one who'd never worked a day in his life.
