The Morning Report — 9/2/22

Good morning kids. I honestly did not think we could get any lower than a Gestapo raid on a former president based on a plot to frame him for treason, let alone the theft of a national election that effectively nailed the coffin shut on America as founded.

But still, they persisted. To call last night's sickening spectacle at, of all places, Independence Hall among the darkest hours in our history is wishful thinking. Because that's what we called the aforementioned and everything else that has happened since then which led us to last night. If history teaches us anything, it's going to get a hell of a lot darker before the dawn comes. That is IF it comes. My fear is that we're going to be yearning for the comparative walk in the park that's been the past 18 months.

On yesterday's thread, regular commenter Mary Poppins' Practically Perfect Piercing, aka MP4, took the words of a failed Viennese artist made during an infamous speech made 83 years ago in front of another wildly enthusiastic audience and transposed a few words:

"I have very often in my lifetime been a prophet and have been mostly derided. At the time of my entry into congress, it was in the first instance the Republicans who only greeted with laughter my prophecies that I would someday take over the leadership of the state and of the entire people of America and then, among other things, also bring the fascist Republican problem to its solution. I believe that this hollow laughter of Republicans in America has already stuck in its throat. I want today to be a prophet again: if the Republicans should succeed in stealing another election, the result will be not their victory, but the annihilation of the fascist Republican party in America!"

Over the top? Considering that mop-top regime mouthpiece Karine Jean-Pierre all but declared the pro-life movement – a non-violent, broad-based legitimate policy-based movement that has been in the public discourse since forever – "semi-fascist" and "extremist" and that President Brain Damage agrees with that assessment, you tell me. And that is just one example.

The most chilling thing is not just the demonization and projection. That's to be expected. Look who was standing directly behind him:

Journalists with CNN and CBS severely criticized [puppet] President Joe Biden for having the U.S. military behind him as he gave a political speech that demonized MAGA Republicans as a dark threat to American democracy. “Whatever you think of this speech the military is supposed to be apolitical. Positioning Marines in uniform behind President Biden for a political speech flies in the face of that. It’s wrong when Democrats do it. It’s wrong when Republicans do it,” tweeted CNN’s Brianna Keilar.

Presidents, legitimate or in this case otherwise, often give speeches where there are uniformed military personnel on the stage with them. But given the content and context of this speech, the message Biden's handlers wanted to send was unambiguous. The only question it raises is, is the use of the military against the citizenry a threat or a promise? And that leads to other unsettling yet unavoidable questions.

This sick, perverted, criminal low-life just officially on national television, despite all three house organ networks not carrying it, declared his predecessor and everyone in the nation who voted form him, supports his policies and by extension anyone who now opposes what he, the sick, perverted, criminal low-life and his handlers have been doing since January 20, 2021 and have yet to do an official enemy of the people, with all that that implies, there can only be one response.

If, as expected, his party receives a drubbing at the polls, will he and they accept it? Not bloody likely. Furthermore, knowing that they are in for a drubbing, will they even allow the elections to take place if they do not have what it takes to "fortify" them? Ditto. But moving beyond mere elections, the labeling of at least half the country as an existential threat to "our precious democracy" (*vomits*), is to me an arrest warrant if not a death sentence. When you have brainwashed several generations into thinking that Republicans, conservatives and really anyone who believes in the traditional American, Judeo-Christian ideals as an existential threat to the peace of the world and really the world itself, you get James Hodgkinson as well as the 2020 Summer of Love 2 Mostly Peaceful Boogaloo.

The only bright spot, and truly the one thing that reflected the actual mood of the American people, was the heckler in the audience who chanted "FUCK JOE BIDEN!" Amen, preach it brother. The tinfoil hat on my head whispered in my ear that maybe this was an intentional plant in the audience for Biden to have a mic-drop moment. Either way, it was the line of the night. Meh, the line of the decade.

Between the policy disasters as well as all of these mush-mouthed, malodorous blood libels, the common wisdom from the punditry has been that it will all backfire on Biden and the Left. To which I respond, take a look around at almost every level both in and out of government and tell me who is still in the driver's seat. There are those who say that we can't vote our way out of this.

After what that bastard said last night, I tend to believe it. God help us. And God help them.
