The Quotes of The Day

Quote I

“Only 5 percent of new car and truck buyers choose electric vehicles … unless that number grows substantially and soon, Ford and other automakers who have made woke commitments to EVs are on a dangerous path, and even $7,500 tax credits may not be enough to save them,” Ben Lieberman, a senior fellow at the Competitive Enterprises Institute

Quote II

“We have therefore decided to massively reinforce the resources of the Central Office for the Fight against Damage to the Environment and to launch 3,000 ‘green police’ posts. The objective is that, in each gendarmerie brigade, there are gendarmes trained in attacks on ecology.” Gérald Darmanin,France’s Minister of the Interior

Do you think that he and John Kerry get together and jack off together?

Quote III

"It does seem unjust, and there does seem to be a long history of loss of credibility at the Department of Justice at the hands of Democrats. And I think people are rightfully frustrated about that," Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX)

.
I guess it would be mean to call him Squinty McSquint-Squint. So I won't.

*

Quote IV

“They’re saying that they’re going after all of the tax cheats, think about that for a second. They passed a bill on the premise that Americans are tax cheats.” Jobs Creator Network (JCN) President Elaine Parker

I had pulled several quotes from the latest Kurt Schlichter opinion piece. But Ace covered it in depth earlier today. Good stuff check it out if you can.

Trump v. United States: Former president files lawsuit to block DOJ reviewing raid evidence

Former President Donald Trump has filed a lawsuit demanding the appointment of a special master to independently review any evidence the FBI seized from him as he pushes back against the unprecedented raid of Mar-a-Lago.

Trump filed the motion on Monday seeking an order from a judge which would appoint a special master, which would stop the Justice Department from further review of the information they had seized from his Florida resort home until the special master is appointed.

The suit was filed in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida

I've always laughed off Dennis Rodman after he completed his NBA career. However, now he has more gravitas than any one serving the resident of the White House.

WASHINGTON — Former NBA player Dennis Rodman said Saturday that he plans to visit Russia to seek the release of Brittney Griner, the WNBA star who was sentenced to nine years in prison on drug charges earlier this month.

"I got permission to go to Russia to help that girl," Rodman told NBC News at a restaurant in D.C. "I'm trying to go this week."

He is more likely to hurt than help, said a senior Biden administration official.

“It’s public information that the administration has made a significant offer to the Russians and anything other than negotiating further through the established channel is likely to complicate and hinder release efforts,” said the official.

Too little, too late and my blood still boils.

Statement by Anthony S. Fauci, M.D.
I am announcing today that I will be stepping down from the positions of Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) and Chief of the NIAID Laboratory of Immunoregulation, as well as the position of Chief Medical Advisor to President Joe Biden. I will be leaving these positions in December of this year to pursue the next chapter of my career.

It has been the honor of a lifetime to have led the NIAID, an extraordinary institution, for so many years and through so many scientific and public health challenges. I am very proud of our many accomplishments. I have worked with — and learned from — countless talented and dedicated people in my own laboratory, at NIAID, at NIH and beyond. To them I express my abiding respect and gratitude.

Notch a "W" in the good guy's column.

NO DICE: Biden’s DOJ Loses Bid To Seal Entire Affidavit On Mar-A-Lago Raid
Biden pledged to be the ‘President of ALL Americans’ and to ‘Heal The Soul of the Nation’. Some people even believed him.

Meanwhile, back in reality, Donald Trump is calling for ‘full transparency’ and ‘for the temperature to be turned down’ while Biden’s DOJ … doesn’t.

What is offensive? Well, it's always in the eye of the beholder or the mob.

The University of Massachusetts Lowell bans students from sending or viewing ‘offensive’ material online

Most of the internet is apparently off-limits for students at the University of Massachusetts Lowell.

The school’s Acceptable Use Policy, which governs the use of computing and networking resources, prohibits students from intentionally transmitting, communicating or accessing “offensive” material. Every month, the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression highlights a university policy that hinders students’ free expression. Since most online content could be called offensive by someone, the policy has earned the dubious honor of FIRE’s August Speech Code of the Month.

Hey, I want peace, love, understanding and the ability to eat pie without weight gain.
But, I'm more realistic than our favorite Mush Head cabinet member at the moment.

Mayor Pete wants airlines to end delays with no instructions as to how

Department of Transportation figures for the first half of 2022 indicate that nearly a quarter (24%) of all domestic airline flights in the United States were delayed and more than 3% of them were canceled. This situation has left many would-be passengers seeing red and demanding that the government do something about it. The situation was serious enough to stir Mayor Pete Buttigieg (our Transportation Secretary because he’s always “really liked cars”) from whatever he normally does to occupy his time and address the problem. During a recent appearance on NBC he said to the airlines “you’ve got to make it easier for passengers to understand their rights. And you’ve got to support passengers when they experience delays or cancellations.” If they fail to do so, the DOT may impose a “rule change.” So what solution does Buttigieg have in mind? His department is setting up a website, which will clearly straighten everything out.

Doesn't the Rainblow Coalition have keys to the Unicorn Fart Lab?

I did not know this. The J6 Congressional committee has 2 members who previously voted against Presidential certification.

I bring completely shocking, unexpected news on this Sunday morning: Liz Cheney is a Democrat.

I know that you are asking yourself how that could possibly be. She’s just so darn principled and cares so deeply about the future of the country. Also, her behavior on the January 6th committee has not at all been antithetical to how justice is supposed in the United States.

Alas, though there was no way to foresee it and no one predicted it, she’s going to be supporting Democrats in the coming mid-terms.

The Unbelievable True Story of John ‘Chickie’ Donohue and ‘The Greatest Beer Run Ever’
There are a number of wartime stories involving beer. For example, William Speakman of the Royal Highland Regiment is famous for holding back 6,000 Chinese troops with beer bottles during the Korean War. There’s also the legendary tale of how the 101st Airborne‘s Vincent Speranza delivered a beer to an injured soldier during the Siege of Bastogne. Oh, and we can’t forget Wojtek, the beer-drinking, cigarette-smoking bear who served with the Polish II Corps during the Second World War.

While those are all iconic, there’s only one beer-laden tale that holds the distinction of being “the greatest beer run ever,” and it occurred during the Vietnam War. This is the story of US Marine Corps veteran John “Chickie” Donohue and his quest to deliver beer to his friends serving overseas.
