The Quotes of The Day

Quote I

“The problem the Republican Party has is they got really stupid people that vote in their primaries. And when you have that, you’re going to get in – really stupid people demand to have really stupid leaders. And that’s where the Republican Party is now.” James Carville

Apparently not a believer in diversity.

Quote II

"We don't expect any of our students who are not married to be sexual, whether it be bisexual, heterosexual or homosexual. I tell people, if a kid came in the doors, exclaiming how he was having sex with his girlfriend that student would be expelled as well." Grace Christian School Administrator Barry McKeen

Quote III

“It’s beneficial for everyone to know some self-defense. I would hate for something to happen to them here just because they’ve gone to work.” Mindy Fong of Jade Chocolates Teahouse and Cafe

In a world of common sense her employees would be carrying a firearm of their choice to protect their lives. But, it's San Fransicko

Elon Musk is betting on a couple of things. 1) His cars appreciating in value. 2) People are made of money.

Tesla’s Full-Self Driving software is going up in price again -From $12,000 to $15,000

Tesla’s increasing the price of its Full-Self Driving (FSD) software to $15,000. In a post on Twitter, Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced that the new price will go into effect in North America starting September 5th, representing a $3,000 jump.

Drivers who order a vehicle before September 5th won’t have to pay the newly-increased price, Musk says. The price hike comes as Tesla begins rolling out FSD beta 10.69 to drivers, a version Musk calls “a big step forward.” It’s still unclear whether Tesla plans on raising the price of its FSD subscription, which currently costs $199 per month.

I never could be an educator teacher or school administrator. I have a backbone.

A teenage girl now reportedly identifies as a cat with the Melbourne private school where she attends supporting her 'animal behaviour'.

The year eight student does not speak during school hours, according to the report in the Herald Sun, despite being described as 'phenomenally bright'.

A parent reportedly told the paper that the school let the girl behave like a cat as long as it did not distract her or other students.

Why doesn't the doctor prescribe to his/her patient to quit living on the government teat? Oh yeah, backbone.

GPs could write prescriptions for money off energy bills for the most vulnerable under a plan drawn up by the Treasury, as Liz Truss’s team signalled more help with costs now forecast to top £6,000 next year.

The unusual proposal would mean people could consult their doctor for an assessment on whether they are struggling enough to require help with their bills.

Distressed-looking person reads energy bill
NHS heads warn of ‘humanitarian crisis’ unless government acts on energy costs

A senior government source said the GP plan was “something that we are
interested in looking at” although a “long way off completion”.

The idea first reported in the Sun on Sunday was dismissed by the shadow health secretary, Wes Streeting, saying the Conservatives “have lost the plot on the cost of living crisis and haven’t got a clue about the level of pressure on the NHS”. It would probably be resisted by overstretched doctors.

Is Donald Trump's son-in-law a traitor to his family?

Donald Trump has enemies everywhere - Even, according to Peter Navarro, inside his own house
I think that Michael Anton is correct that “the people who really run the United States of America have made it clear that they can’t, and won’t, if they can help it, allow Donald Trump to be president again.”

“The people who really run the United States”: that would be denizens of the Swamp, the bureaucratic elite, their media and academic mouthpieces, worker bees in the ambient welfare jelly and the nomenklatura who win elections and circulate in and out of the corridors of power.

It’s a powerful, nearly monolithic force, a monument to special privilege and two-tier justice — and the prospect of dismantling it is daunting to say the least. The fact that Donald Trump, from the moment he sailed down the elevator at Trump Tower to announce his candidacy in 2015, managed to open a bleeding fissure in that smug consensus shows why the ruling class considers him so dangerous. One man, almost without allies, inexperienced in the ways of the Swamp, dependent at every turn on ambassadors and front men from the very thing he had campaigned to destroy: how much damage could he really do?

Who would be police academy and security guard failures for $500.

Where Are 87,000 IRS Agents Going to Come From?
The IRS will be a bottom feeder for the industry, if they get that far.

he Inflation Reduction Act’s clarion call to more than double the size of the IRS has raised hackles and ire across the board. A more domineering IRS is frightful to contemplate. My response to this is simple: Don’t worry, it won’t happen. Why? The biggest obstacle that the federal government is going to face is where they are going to get the bodies with the skills needed to fill these new positions.

Having worked for 25 years for one of the big three accounting firms, I am more than aware of the challenges the industry has in hiring qualified accounting staff. At one point my firm had set up a program at the University of Virginia to take liberal arts graduates and turn them into accountants over the course of an intense 18 month program . . . such is the difficulty of having enough staff.

A deeper look at the IRS training.

'This is not doctored': See IRS recruit 'Police Academy'-style armed agents
Don't laugh: Videos, photos offer preview of plan to add 87,000 employees

In the wake of the passage of the massive Democratic Party spending bill that expands the IRS by 87,000 agents, a Republican congressman has released visual evidence that only increases the cause for concern among American taxpayers.

"These are not auditions for the next Police Academy sequel. This is an actual IRS recruiting program," wrote Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky., on Twitter.

Just think, TSA is no longer the bottom of the barrel.

It really isn't difficult to check someone's background for employment. Unless you are a school district.

A Northern Virginia middle school counselor was employed by Fairfax County Public Schools for a whopping five months after he was convicted of a crime of pedophilia in suburban Richmond’s Chesterfield County. In a press release made this week, Fairfax County Public Schools announced they’d fired the counselor, yet protected his identity and claimed to have been previously unaware of his felony sex crime charges and conviction.

Newly-fired Glasgow Middle School counselor Darren Thornton was convicted in March of this year on felony charges of soliciting a minor for prostitution in Chesterfield County, Virginia, having been indicted for the crime in November of 2020. All the while, Fairfax County Public School officials claim they were unaware of Thornton’s troubling criminal charges, even as the seemingly rampant employment of sexual predators in public schools became a focal point of local and national politics.

Ohio Democrat Communist candidates are acting tough now. Hopefully the voters of Ohio know better.

A top Ohio Democrat is breaking with President Joe Biden in a new campaign advertisement, hammering the president over his trade polic y as she seeks reelection in a district newly redrawn to favor Republicans .

In the spot , Rep. Marcy Kaptur (D-OH) criticizes Biden for “letting Ohio solar manufacturers be undercut by China .”

But Kaptur has been “fighting back” against the president while “working with Republican Rob Portman ” to protect the state’s jobs.

The message is a 180-degree turn from Kaptur, who has typically offered Biden her emphatic praise.

The little guy wins after being Tazed three times. Tonight's Feel Good Story of The Day.

ALEXANDRIA, Va. -- A jury has awarded $50,000 to a northern Virginia landlord who was shot three times with a stun gun when sheriff's deputies wrongly arrested him following a tenant's complaint.

Matthew Souter, 57, of The Plains, Virginia, was arrested at his home in November 2018 after a tenant in his 19th-century farmhouse claimed he had violated a protective order she had obtained a day earlier.

Before the trial began Tuesday in federal court, a judge ruled that the three Fauquier County sheriff's deputies who arrested Souter violated his constitutional rights.

The tenant claimed Souter violated the protective order by shutting off her utilities, which Souter denied. But even if he had cut off the power, Judge T.S. Ellis III said the plain language of the protective order merely barred Souter from committing acts of violence against the tenant, and shutting off the utilities would not qualify as a violation.

Which reminds me of this song....................
