DeSantis Proposes Hiring Retired Veterans, Cops, and Paramedics as Teachers, Vowing He Will Not Let State's Education System Be a "Woke Dumpster Fire"

Now we'll hear from one of the dumbest groups of people on the planet that only they have the high levels of education necessary to teach basic skills to children.

All guilds hate competition from outsiders, but especially guilds that protect incompetents and... groomers.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is proposing three initiatives to get more teachers in schools by offering incentives for veterans and first responders who have a bachelor's degree to become educators.

The goal is to fill areas in need such as science, exceptional students' education, and reading. Those approved will receive a bonus of up to $5,000.

"We believe the folks that have served our communities have an awful lot to offer," DeSantis said. "We've got people that have served 20 years in law enforcement. They retire, and some of them are looking for the next chapter in their life."

DeSantis said those interested in teaching will not be able to indoctrinate children with extreme views because "in the classroom, we've battled a lot of ideologies."

"We are not going to let this state descend into some type of woke dumpster fire. We're going to be following common sense. We're going to be following facts, and that's really important," he added.

He's also proposing letting veterans and first responders with an associates degree teach while they complete their bachelor's degree.

I disagree with restricting this program to first responders and veterans. Why not open it up to anyone? I suppose the idea is to make it politically difficult for the teachers unions to accuse their new competitors of being something repulsive, like, say, groomers.

Blatant disrespect for parents right out of the gate.

Whether the shirt says Fox, CNN, MSNBC or NPR, it is unprofessional and inappropriate.

Perhaps her focus should be elsewhere since 90% of her students don't do math on grade level and 87% of them can't read proficiently.

Her students might not know the actual grammatical function of pronouns -- you know, that stuff they used to teach about real pronouns -- but I bet they know all about Gender Studies Novelty Pronouns!
