Quick Hits

On Friday, Georgetown decided to not fire Ilya Shapiro over a poorly-worded tweet. But they did not refrain from firing him because they supported free speech -- they only refrained from firing him because he made the tweet before he began working for Georgetown (he had signed the contract, but not yet begun his term of employment) and therefore, they concluded, they did not have the legal right to control his speech yet.

Ilya Shapiro has therefore decided to quit, rather than work for enemies of free speech, and work at a place where, let's face it, his job would just be marking time until his contract was up for renewal, at which point they would surely decide against renewing it. So it would just be a matter of him spinning his career wheels for 1-3 years for no good reason, rather than working on making his mark somewhere else.

In a Monday resignation letter to William Treanor, the dean of Georgetown Law School, Shapiro said the university had created a hostile work environment through its monthslong investigation into since-deleted tweets he sent in January and that he was left with no choice but to resign.

"I cannot again subject my family to the public attacks on my character and livelihood that you and [the institutional diversity office] have now made foreseeable, indeed inevitable," Shapiro wrote. "As a result of the hostile work environment that you and they have created, I have no choice but to resign."

The universities can no longer be supported with money extracted by gunpoint from the citizenry. We will not accept this status quo any longer.

The Carolina Panthers are proud to present their first cheerleader with a dick.

The first openly transgender cheerleader has joined an NFL team -- a "big" moment that she says she hopes will inspire others on and off the gridiron.

Justine Lindsay, 29, said in an interview Saturday that she's proud to "break down that door" for future trans athletes by joining the cheerleading squad for the Carolina Panthers' TopCats.

"This is big," she told BuzzFeed News. "I think more people need to see this. It's not because I want recognition. It's just to shed light on what's going on in the world."

Transgender boyfriends take first and second place in women's cycling event.

Prior to Thursday's race, Bridges had been unable to compete in women's cycling events. As reported by Outkick, Bridges couldn't race in the British National Omnium cycling event after protest. Bridges was also cycling and winning competitions in male categories as recently as February, and was registered for the British National Omnium as a man.

The outrage continued through Bridges' involvement in ThunderCrit, as one tweet noted "If injustice doesn't inspire fury, you're morally defunct."

Two men in 1st and 2nd place in a women's race. If another man chooses to enter, there'll be no female winners. In women's sports. If injustice doesn't inspire fury, you're morally defunct.

Pizza Hut promotes book about "drag kids" aimed at children aged four and under.

Pizza Hut is featuring a book about "drag kids" as one of the books promoted by its "Book It!" reading incentive program aimed at children in pre-kindergarten through 6th grade.

The "Book It!" website features a book titled "Big Wig," and states that the reading is geared toward children in pre-kindergarten through 3rd grade.

"Big Wig" is a picture book that "celebrates drag kids," according to a description on the Simon & Schuster website.

Some of the images from the book that Pizza Hut is recommending to Pre-K kids four and under are here. They're cartoon drawings so no content warning. Just heavy-handed promotion of drag to extremely young boys, or boys who are junior-queens-in-training.

Hollywood insiders say that Amber Heard will have a hard time mounting a comeback, unless it's in German sheisse porn.

After humiliation in the courtroom, Amber Heard is now facing ostracism in Hollywood.

"Did Amber ever really work in Hollywood?" one Hollywood producer sniffed to Page Six.

As a fan of Nick Cage, I can confirm, she was the female lead in Drive Angry, which was a pretty decent B-movie.

And how was she in it?

She was... she was pretty. She made for a nice foreground decoration.

"What else has she really been in other than the 'Aquaman' movie? I don't think she was ever really a hot ticket -- Johnny made her interesting."

...

As for Heard making her own back back in Tinseltown, one high-placed studio source told Page Six: "I think it will be very hard for her."

...

"Johnny will definitely work again," said the studio source. "Amber can work again, [but] I'd think it will be more the indie route. I'm just not sure studios want the liability of working with her."

Well, here's the next big dramatic production Amber is slated to star in:

Even some people she once considered support have fallen away.

Sources told Page Six that Heard is no longer close to her former boyfriend Elon Musk.

...

In a witness statement, Jennifer Howell, a friend of Heard's younger sister Whitney Henriquez and her late mom Paige, said that Paige -- who died in 2020, at age 63 -- had told her that Musk was suing the actress over embryos they had created together.

In a statement seen by Page Six, Howell, Henriquez's former employer at charity The Art of Elysium, claimed: "Paige told me that Amber said Elon was controlling, abusive and that she was in a legal battle with him over the rights to embryos they had created together. He wanted to destroy them, and Amber tried to keep them to have a baby."

Oh, so Elon Musk is now also "abusive and controlling."

Who saw that coming.

Speaking of Elon Musk, he tweeted this alleged quote from John "Johnny Rotten" Lydon. I say alleged because I can't find a source from it, apart from Musk's tweet.

"I never thought I'd live to see the day when the right wing would become the cool ones giving the middle finger to the establishment, and the left wing becoming the sniveling self-righteous twatty ones going around shaming everyone," quoted Lydon, which was then shared in a tweet by Musk.

It does sound like something Lydon could say. I just don't know if he actually said it.

And really speaking of Musk: Musk is threatening to bail on the Twitter deal, which makes me said.

Some speculate that he is threatening to pull out of the deal to force Twitter to give him a discount on his purchase price. Musk did sign a contract of intent to purchase which says he has to give Twitter one billion dollars if he walks away from the deal.

He's arguing that Twitter has concealed, and continues to conceal, material facts from him about the actual worth of the company, and his implication is that this should nullify the one-billion-dollar-walkaway penalty.

But I don't think it does.

Elon Musk is threatening to walk away from his $44 billion bid to buy Twitter, accusing the company of refusing to give him information about its spam bot and fake accounts.

Lawyers for the Tesla and SpaceX CEO made the threat in a letter to Twitter dated Monday that the company disclosed in a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

The lawyers wrote that Musk has repeatedly asked for the information since May 9, about a month after his offer to buy the company, so he could evaluate how many of the company's 229 million accounts are fake.

Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal has said that Twitter has consistently estimated that fewer than 5% of its accounts are spam. But Musk has disputed that, contending in a May tweet, without providing evidence, that 20% or more are bogus.

This AP article from May says that Twitter has previously expressed uncertainty about its estimates of how many accounts were actually bots, so Musk probably can't claim he was given a guarantee on the figure, I don't think.

Eh, I don't know. He might have been offended by Twitter's censorship and decided to do something about it, and decided that $44 billion was a small price to pay to save free speech.

And then, in the weeks that followed, he may have realized that, no matter what you're buying, $44 billion is never, ever "a small price to pay."

It is very doubtful that Twitter can ever make money. And not only does Musk have to pay for Twitter, he will also have to make Twitter's payroll every month -- it's not clear that Twitter can ever actually break even. Is he prepared to sink money into this shithole every month for the rest of his life?

I dunno.

Meanwhile, the redpilling of Al Gore's one-time Masculinity Advisor continues:

When danger is moments away, the police are standing around for 55 minutes "waiting for additional resources and authorities:"
