This is illustration, not art, but it is vitally important to remember what happened 78 years ago on the coast of northern France.
225 Rangers (Thank you RI Red for reminding me!) landed on the beach below the cliffs. After two days, only 90 were able to fight.
Why is it important to remember? Because it is an example of American Exceptionalism and our country's dedication to the founding principles. If we forget the sacrifices that these brave men...and many others throughout our history...made, then we are diminished.
