The Quotes of The Day

Quote I

“It definitely makes a difference when the world you’re growing up in you can’t interact with people and their face, that’s super important to babies." Briana Gay

Quote II

“Biden chose Harris as his VP because of the color of her skin and sex—not qualification. She’s been a disaster. Now he promises to choose Supreme Court nominee on the same  criteria.  Identity politics is destroying our country.Former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard

Quote III

“It’s a strange responsibility to have this many viewers and listeners. It’s very strange. It’s nothing that I’ve prepared for. I’m going to do my best in the future to balance things out.” He added, “If I’ve pissed you off, I’m sorry.” Joe Rogan

Quote IV

“It’s true that a lot of Democrats, to include Joe Biden and Kamala Harris and others do seem to care more about Ukraine’s border than our southern border at a time when we’ve had 2 million illegal immigrants cross our border under Joe Biden’s tenure in office. I mean that’s like adding the entire population of Nebraska to this country.”Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR)

Some people take the term "Buffet Busters" literally.

Bensalem Director of Public Safety William McVey confirmed the department is actively investigating what happened Friday around 4:30 p.m. at the Golden Corral Buffet & Grill restaurant in the 1400 block of Street Road.

McVey did not have an exact count of of how many people were involved, but officers believe it was more than 40. The fight left the dining room heavily damaged and sent people fleeing for safety.

I'm the first to admit I don't have a MBA from some Ivy League School or any school. But this particular business venture has me scratching my head.

BlackBerry is adding another sad chapter to the downfall of its smartphone business. Today, the company announced a sale of its prized patent portfolio for $600 million. The buyer is "Catapult IP Innovations Inc.," a new company BlackBerry describes as "a special purpose vehicle formed to acquire the BlackBerry patent assets."

BlackBerry says the patents are for "mobile devices, messaging and wireless networking." These are the patents surrounding BlackBerry's phones, QWERTY keyboards, and BlackBerry Messenger (BBM). BlackBerry most recently weaponized these patents (which covered ideas like muting a message thread and displaying notifications as a numeric icon badge) against Facebook Messenger in 2018. That was nothing new for BlackBerry, which is a veteran of the original smartphone patent wars. Back when BlackBerry was still called RIM, it went after companies like Handspring and Good Technology in the early 2000s.

Black Cash Matters.

Black Lives Matter transferred millions to a Canadian charity run by the wife of its co-founder to purchase a sprawling mansion that had once served as the headquarters of the Communist Party, public records show.

M4BJ, a Toronto-based non-profit set up by Janaya Khan and other Canadian activists, snagged the 10,000 square foot historic property for the equivalent of $6.3 million in cash in July 2021, according to Toronto property records viewed by The Post.

Khan is the wife of Patrisse Khan-Cullors, a co-founder of Black Lives Matter Global Foundation Network and a self-avowed Marxist

From the photos it appears they don't miss many meals either. No, it isn't mean just an observation.

Piss on you little bastards. We don't need to follow rules. You on the other hand do.

California's leading Democrats violated their own mask mandate while cavorting with billionaires at SoFi Stadium during the NFC championship game in Los Angeles on Sunday.

Gov. Gavin Newsom was among the Democratic politicians spotted without a mask while mingling with donors and watching the game in a luxury suite. Mayors Eric Garcetti and London Breed were also there cheering on their respective hometown teams, the Los Angeles Rams and the San Francisco 49ers. Both were photographed in violation of state and local mask mandates.

Once upon a time I purchased a book from Goodwill that cost more than the garage sale it came from. The garage sale sale sticker was still on the book jacket. That's life and the free market. Thrift wars!

‘This is why I don’t thrift anymore’: TikToker finds $8.99 Goodwill decor being resold for $220, sparking debate
'At least take the sticker off first.'

A viral TikTok showing the price disparity between Goodwill and an independent “thrift store” has angered viewers, leading them to blame resellers for “ruining thrifting.”

Beyond Fried Chicken? No, it's just a wannabe.

So it’s safe to say I was pretty amped to try Beyond Fried Chicken, KFC’s newest menu option from Beyond Meat. It’s been available in limited test markets since 2019, but a few weeks ago, KFC announced it was doing a limited-time national rollout. That began on January 10, with the company estimating supplies would last for around four weeks, so there’s still time to get your greasy hands on some fake chicken nuggs—just don’t call them that.

KFC isn’t exactly trying to do haute cuisine for fake meat lovers here. In theory, they could have shot to replicate the whole fried chicken experience, like using a sugarcane “bone” to create a mock meat lollipop—something I’ve encountered at restaurants. Instead, they just made nuggets, or as the brand is calling them, simply Beyond Fried Chicken.

To answer the most burning question: This stuff tastes like KFC. I haven’t eaten at the Colonel’s joint in years, but everything about the experience instantly lit up a long-dormant neural pathway. (I guess it’s true that KFC is kind of addictive.) That started with the box the Beyond Fried Chicken came in, with its oil-stained exterior clearing the underbrush in my brain.

Well isn't this interesting? Japanese study is looking at the effectiveness of Ivermectin. And it is looking promising.

A Japanese conglomerate has found that the anti-parasitic drug ivermectin is effective and safe for the treatment of the coronavirus Omicron variant, according to a phase III clinical trial.

Kowa Co. Ltd., a conglomerate with interests in trading, hospitality, and electronics, along with health and medical applications, issued a press release (pdf) on Jan. 31 stating that ivermectin has been found to be effective against Omicron.

Kowa representatives didn’t respond to a request for comment by press time.

The company, working with Kitasato University based in Tokyo, said that ivermectin has the “same antiviral effect” on all “mutant strains,” including Alpha, Delta, and Omicron. Kowa added that ivermectin suppresses invasion of the virus and inhibits its replication.

“[Ivermectin] is expected to be applied as a therapeutic drug (tablet) for all new coronavirus infectious diseases,” the report said.

Just what we need is more "Big Brother". Buttigieg To Usher In Speed Camera Nightmare Across US

The U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg's plan to roll out a sprawling network of speed and surveillance cameras across America's highways raises troubling questions of mass surveillance, according to DailyMail.

Buttigieg's 42-page plan to improve highway safety will receive a whopping $17 billion from President Biden's $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill, which would be used to install speed and surveillance cameras on highways. The plan says the use of automated speed cameras is a more "equitable" way to patrol highways than the police.

'Home Alone' was a movie, not a How-To Book on raising kids. Genius Award Winner.

JANUARY 20--A Connecticut teacher left her two children at home alone while she vacationed with her boyfriend in Florida, according to investigators who say the woman told the minors to stay out of sight in the residence’s basement and “just eat candy” for dinner.

Kerry Caviasca, 36, was arrested Saturday on reckless endangerment and risk of injury charges in connection with her three-day trip to the Sunshine State in late-November. Caviasca is free on $5000 bond in advance of a January 25 Superior Court hearing.

Police began investigating Caviasca after her ex-husband reported that she had left the children, ages 9 and 11, alone in a Watertown residence.

Seen at right, Caviasca, who has primary custody of the boy and girl, is a middle school teacher in the Waterbury school district.
