As Even the Leftwing Media and Political Figures Demand that Teachers Go Back to Work, Teachers Say F*** You -- It's Summer Vacation For Us, Forever

The NPC Programming Updates went out again earlier this week. I know they went out before, but they went out this time with a Critical Update, Action Needed Immediately warning, because too many NPCs refused the update.

Look at these jagoff leftwingers trying to convince their leftwing allies in the teachers unions that they've gone too far and they're provoking a parent uprising against the Democrat-Media Complex.

This is outrageous. These teachers need to teach. Kids come first. And there's no real danger to the teachers as long as they have all had three vaccine shots. https://t.co/qn2HO6AtxR

-- Max Boot (@MaxBoot) January 5, 2022

I've supported unions my entire life. I was a member of a union. But @maxboot is right. These teachers are playing politics with Covid which is damaging our children. You can't criticize the right for outrageous behavior and then support these teachers. https://t.co/gbO2fd57aD

-- Joe Lockhart (@joelockhart) January 5, 2022

Even CNN's Scaremonger In Residence Leana Wen -- who never met a forced mandate or lockdown she didn't love -- demanded that teachers give up on their never-ending demand to be made Stay At Home members of the Laptop Class.

We in public health fought for teachers to be prioritized for vaccines.

Vaccines + boosters protect very well against severe illness to omicron. Wearing a high quality mask further protects you.

Teachers unions: Please stop the delays. We need all schools to be in-person, now.

-- Leana Wen, M.D. (@DrLeanaWen) January 4, 2022

Striking quote from @PedsDanny on @AC360:

"Closure of public schools is the biggest public health failure of our lifetime. Why do we want to do that again?"

Schools remain one of the safest places for children from a #covid19 transmission standpoint.

-- Leana Wen, M.D. (@DrLeanaWen) January 5, 2022

Yes, schools should stay open.

This is not 2020 or 2021. Omicron is a milder variant, and there are highly effective tools now (i.e. vaccination + masking).

Teachers and students are far more likely to be infected at social gatherings, restaurants, etc than at school. https://t.co/HlcIkrsbBG

-- Leana Wen, M.D. (@DrLeanaWen) January 5, 2022

As many people have pointed out: Go to any teacher's instagram account -- any of these teachers claiming to be so a-scared of covid -- and you'll see them posting snaps from restaurants, bars, and clubs.

We are in a very different place compared to a year ago. Vaccines are widely available. Omicron is milder than previous variants. People vaccinated & boosted are generally protected from severe illness. The US cannot close schools + shutter businesses. @CNNSitRoom @wolfblitzer pic.twitter.com/uHxFlw7ZDv

John Ekdahl tipped me to this earlier in the week, and told me to check out the replies: the left is freaking out and branding Leana Wen -- formerly a respected Science Priest with all her credentials in order -- a heretic and possible witch.

For example:

Dr Ellie Murray, ScD @EpiEllie

IDK who Dr Wen's "we" is, but over here on my side of public health *we* want teachers & students be protected from COVID via *every* tool at our disposal and encourage teachers & students to strike when unprotected.

Genevieve Wojcik, PhD MHS @genandgenes

This is inappropriate, especially from someone who should know better. Schools are understaffed + underresourced, often w/o effective ventilation. Cases are sky high here in MD.

Stop blaming those with limited power who are just trying to protect their families and students.

But the teachers are refusing to update their NPC code. In NYC and San Francisco -- two cities where they're guaranteed of Blue Government Forever -- they've decided to strike and demand to be Laptop Class workers.

In San Francisco, teachers -- who are All About The Kids, you might have heard -- didn't even ask their union to call a strike. They called an unauthorized strike themselves, a sickout, vowing to "shut the whole system down."

"By withholding our labor, by reclaiming our time and our health, we send the message that if SFUSD, the City, State, and Federal Government do not invest in seriously addressing this pandemic (and the ongoing issues which make dealing with the pandemic so challenging for public schools), we can shut the whole system down," according to organizers of the petition. "And we will!"

All about the kids. They just love the kids.

In NYC, the teachers are demanding, as usual, to be Laptop Class workers.

Angered teachers union factions are ramping up pressure on city officials to adopt remote learning amid an ongoing "nightmare" of COVID-19 infections in city schools.

Progressive and left-leaning elements within the United Federation of Teachers have amplified their calls to temporarily shutter schools after the DOE recorded more than 12,000 new teacher and student cases Monday.

With Mayor Eric Adams staunchly opposing any school closures and UFT boss Michael Mulgrew avoiding a war of words with City Hall, some union groups are intensifying their tactics.

I've mentioned this before, but if kids really can learn "just as well" from a computer screen, then let's just pay one hundred of the best teachers in the world to record video lessons of all the public school classes from grades K through 12, and just have kids watch them at home. We don't need to pay these unqualified dregs to each do what we could pay good teachers to do just once if kids are going to be Learning From Screens anyway.

And then we'd avoid all those very, very stupid, unqualified and barely-literate (or -numerate) teachers who only keep their jobs due to union protection.

An error-laden letter from a Virginia teachers union calling for more protections against the coronavirus has gone viral on Twitter.

Startled by a slew of linguistic gaffes, an Arlington parent took a correction pen to the piece and posted the aftermath online.

"Hey @VEA4Kids, are you going to send out more of these grammar worksheets over break?" the poster quipped derisively. "My kids and I had a great time spotting errors! Did we find them all?"

Despite the letter only consisting of five paragraphs, the Twitter teacher spotted roughly 20 blunders and highlighted them in green pen.

Addressed to Arlington Schools Superintendent Dr. Francisco Duran, the union letter highlights the recent spread of the coronavirus and argues for a delayed resumption of classes in January to address the issue.

If I were these barely-educated lazy goldbricking half-wits, I would be very, very carefully about how hard I pressed the claim that "kids can learn just as good looking at a computer screen."

Because we might just end up believing you, and firing your asses, and saving ourselves huge stacks of cash.

I didn't cover this in December when it broke, but will do so now. You know, obviously, that the teachers unions have conspired with Brandon to force school closures and mandates as policy.

They also have demanded that kids wear mask.

Masks are known to be useless. Kids aren't required to wear them in Europe.

But teachers in the US wanted kids to be made as uncomfortable as possible and insisted on them.

Trouble was, there was no science to show that they were more than "useless facial decorations," as CNN's Leana Wen now (very belatedly) concedes.

But the CDC found one "study." One study, that concluded what, get this, the teachers unions wanted it to conclude.

And they adopted that as the Final Word on Masks in Schools.

You'll never guess -- turns out that study is garbage.

Gee, I wonder if the CDC overlooked its obvious flaws because the "stakeholders" in education that matter, its teachers union allies, demanded they impose a mask mandate on children.

One of the main reasons for the strict CDC approach is a study out of Arizona which Director Rochelle Walensky began touting in September. The striking claim based on this one study is that schools without mask mandates "were 3.5 times more likely" to have a COVID outbreak than those requiring masks.

...

But according to eight experts consulted by [Atlantic writer David] Zweig, the Arizona study isn't reliable:

The Arizona study's lead authors stand by their work, and so does the CDC. But the critics were forthright in their harsh assessments. Noah Haber, an interdisciplinary scientist and a co-author of a systematic review of COVID-19 mitigation policies, called the research "so unreliable that it probably should not have been entered into the public discourse."...

The study's methodology and data set appear to have significant flaws. The trouble begins with the opening lines of the paper, where the authors say they evaluated the association between school mask policies and school-associated COVID-19 outbreaks "during July 15-August 31, 2021." After reviewing school calendars and speaking with several school administrators in Maricopa and Pima Counties, I found that only a small proportion of the schools in the study were open at any point during July. Some didn't begin class until August 10; others were open from July 19 or July 21. That means students in the latter group of schools had twice as much time--six weeks instead of three weeks--in which to develop a COVID outbreak.

...

"If schools with mask mandates had fewer school days during the study," [a critic] told me, "that alone could explain the difference in outbreaks."

Well, obviously. That's why we calculate batting average based on the number of at-bats, not just gross hits.

Read the whole thing. I will not even entertain the possibility that this "study" was not seized on, promoted, and protected, despite its obvious glaring methodological flaws, at the behest of the teachers unions.

And note, a dozen studies have proven that masks in schools are near-useless.

And yet this piece-of-shit is the one that political hack Rachel Wallensky took with her on a media tour.

Below, Lightfoot notes that the federal government spent $123 billion to upgrade ventilation and meet other teachers union demands to make schools "safe" for them.

That works out to about one million per school.

And they say: We don't feel safe. We're not coming into work.

A lot of people are pointing out that schools spent a lot of that "safety and health" money on... CRT trainings and materials.
