But that's not what Acting President Klain said previously.
On Monday, Joe Biden conceded defeat in his war on the COVID-19 pandemic when he declared, "There is no federal solution [to COVID]. This gets solved at a state level."
But Biden's pivot to the pandemic being solved at the state level isn't merely a pivot but an outright flip-flop. Not only did Joe Biden repeatedly promise that he had a (federal) plan to defeat the virus, but Ron Klain, a top advisor during his campaign and now his chief of staff, accused Donald Trump of deferring pandemic response to the states and not utilizing the federal government to "beat this killer disease."
"I've been saying since March that we can't beat COVID with an 'Articles of Confederation' response,' Klain tweeted last year. "We have a national government for a reason. If Donald Trump won't use it to beat this killer disease, I know someone who will, starting on 1/20/21."
I think it's time for DeSantis to issue a "Lead, Follow, or Get Out of the Way" taunt to President (*) Biden.
The Washington Free Beacon projects that Biden's COVID-19 death toll will exceed that of his predecessor (408,450) by the end of the year, and will reach approximately 420,069 by the time he delivers his first State of the Union address.
"I will shut down the virus."
--Joe Biden
We rate this claim Four Clintons, and pronounce it "Lie of the Year" for 2021.
Biden has already exceeded Trump's covid death toll.
On Christmas Eve, CNN Newsroom fill-in host Boris Sanchez had some trouble doing that as he definitively claimed it was "fake news" to accurately say that more Americans have been killed by Covid under President Biden than former President Trump.
...
According to The New York Times, as of Christmas, there were 814,891 Covid deaths in the U.S. And The Washington Post has deaths under Trump at 402,269. With some simple subtraction, we see there are 412,622 deaths under Biden.
Biden's actual "plan" to "shut down" covid -- including various social media influencers, three Jonas Brothers, and a dozen Dancin' Nurses.
Or here's another take: Just taking Trump's plan and dressing it up a bit for a leftwing audience.
Trouble is -- they're much more ambivalent about saying so publicly.
That is the surprising result of the latest Rasmussen Reports survey done at a time when transgender controversies are smashing into college sports, provoking protests in federal prisons, and feeding protests of those such as Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling who have argued that there are only two sexes.
Rasmussen asked voters about Rowling's statements, and 75% agreed that there are only two sexes, with 63% "strongly" agreeing.
But they apparently don't like the debate being so public. When asked if they side with Rowling or consider her comments a "hate crime," 58% said they agree with the author, 17% called her words hate, and 25% said they weren't sure.
CHICAGO MAYOR LORI LIGHTFOOT: "Joyous Kwanzaa, Chicago!...The COVID-19 vaccines are by far the best way to protect yourself and your loved ones from the virus...May the light of peace bring happiness to your home, as we wish you the warmth and togetherness of Kwanzaa." pic.twitter.com/ljUBmNzchY
