The Quotes of The Day

Quote I

“I’m relieved that I will finally get my hard-earned savings back after a year of suffering. But what happened to me was wrong. The officers and prosecutors treated me like a criminal when all I was trying to do was improve my business and my life." Kermit Warren, a New Orleans grandfather and head deacon of his Lower Ninth Ward church

Quote II

‘It’s not fair when, for example, one country send lots and lots of delegates, and then another country is very under-represented.

‘That already creates an imbalance, and climate justice is at the very heart of this crisis.Greta Thunberg

Quote III

“Donald Trump is traveling to the World Series just so he can be filmed doing the tomahawk chop.”

“But if you state the obvious: that this all carries the stench of a white supremacist photo op, you’re being divisive,” Dave Zirin, sports editor for The Nation

Talk about living rent free in someone's head. What sad and pathetic lives.

Quote IV
"I've had cancer. I'm triple vaxxed. If it gets me, fair play to it because it will put up a fight against me but I'm not staying in my house again."The Atlantic staff writer Caitlin Flanagan

Quote V

‘He needs space for me to take care of him and his mental health. It’s an awful thing that happened. Alec feels awful.’ Hilaria Baldwin

Austin, Texas is in the news tonight. Will Austin voters decide to fund additional police officers in a city that needs policing.

In August, the council, feeling pressure from an increase in violent crime and a state law penalizing cities that defund their police, reversed course when it came to the cuts and approved a substantial increase in law enforcement funding.

“But activists at Save Austin Now think it’s too little, too late. They successfully worked to put a referendum, Proposition A, on the ballot, with a special election set for Tuesday,” the Fox report said.

By the time the resident was shooting at them, I think it's a little late for the mental health professional to show up.

What started as Austin city workers attempting to trim a Texas man's unkempt lawn resulted in the homeowner shooting at landscapers, a house fire, and a standoff with police that ended with a deadly encounter.

The owner of the property was reportedly notified during the summer that "weeds were more than a foot tall," which violated the city code. The owner was allegedly ordered to mow the lawn by Aug. 19. Apparently, the homeowner never complied.

Around 9:16 a.m. on Wednesday, Austin Police offers attempted to serve a nuisance search warrant, but they were unable to locate the resident, according to Austin Police Chief Joseph Chacon.

Moar Texas news..........I'm sure there are many Morons who are happy that the Texas MoMe was last weekend.

American Airlines cancels more than 1,600 weekend flights, citing weather and staffing

DALLAS — American Airlines has canceled more than 1,600 flights over the past three days, citing blustery conditions in Texas and a shortage of flight attendants.

The disruptions were similar in their initial cause and size to problems suffered in early October by Southwest Airlines, and they raised ominous questions about whether major airlines are prepared for the busy upcoming holiday travel period.

By early afternoon Sunday, American had canceled more than 800 flights — almost 30% of its schedule for the day — after scrapping nearly 900 flights on Friday and Saturday, according to tracking service FlightAware.

American’s troubles began late in the week, when high winds at times shut down flights and prevented the airline from using all runways at its busiest hub, Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. That made it difficult for American to get crews in position for upcoming flights, and the cancellations and delays grew worse through Saturday and Sunday.

Staffing issues? American staff doesn't want to be vaccinated either?

Moar airline news. Southwest Airlines pilot has sense of humor. CNN anal-yst doesn't.

After a Southwest Airlines pilot reportedly ended an address to passengers with the words “Let’s go, Brandon” on Friday, a CNN analyst likened the man’s remark to the equivalence of something an ISIS terrorist might say.

Colleen Long of the Associated Press said that the incident took place Friday morning on a flight from Houston to Albuquerque. Video subsequently surfaced of an unidentified pilot uttering the anti-Biden phrase after welcoming the passengers to the flight. “Thanks for coming out and flying Southwest Airlines. Welcome aboard,” he said. “And remember,” he said softly, “Let’s go Brandon.”

No "Let's Go Brandon!" at the Jason Aldean concert in Florida.

Some of the thousands of fans who showed up to see country music superstar Jason Aldean in Tampa, Florida, on Saturday night burst out into “Fuck Joe Biden” chants, video posted to social media shows.

“Country Music Fans chant ‘FJB’ at a Jason Aldean Concert. #FJB #LetsGoBrandon,” one Twitter user said in a tweet, which shows video of the ruckus crowd singing the searing slogan. “You said it” the singer could be heard saying from the stage.

This certainly caught my eye. A 1999 Honda Civic the object of desire.

I found my stolen Honda Civic using a Bluetooth tracker. It’s the latest controversial weapon against theft.

The third time my 1999 Honda Civic was stolen, I had a plan. I’d taken the usual preventive measures like locking the doors, using a steering-wheel lock and parking on a well-lit street. But I also had something hidden deep in the car: a Tile tracker the size of a coin quietly transmitting its approximate location over Bluetooth.

Who knew chickens could fly? Our Genius Award Winner.

OCTOBER 29--A Pennsylvania woman is facing a criminal charge after allegedly striking another woman in the back of the head with a “cold chicken” at a Walmart Supercenter, according to police and court records.

Police say that Tahonee Fickes, 20, earlier this month “threw a cold chicken” at Kimberly Pittman, 52, while the women were inside a Walmart in Chambersburg, a central Pennsylvania borough about 15 miles from the Maryland state line.

The chicken “struck [Pittman] in the back of her head,” according to the Pennsylvania State Police. It is unclear what prompted the alleged poultry attack, or if Pittman was injured during the October 7 incident

Tonight's Feel Good Story of The Day.

Iowa is standing up for workers who have refused to take the coronavirus vaccine on principle and paid for it by losing their jobs.

A new law signed by Republican Gov. Kim Reynolds carves out an exception to the rules for individuals who claim religious or medical exemptions from COVID-19 vaccination requirements.

The bill passed the Iowa House and Senate on Thursday, according to KPIC-TV.
