Gold Star Families Blast Biden For Constantly Checking Watch During Dignified Transfer of Remains and For Constantly Talking About His Non-Combatant Son Beau Instead of Their Dead Sons

Gold Star fathers Mark Schmitz and Darin Hoover slammed President Joe Biden during a Fox News interview on Monday night for appearing to repeatedly look at his watch while participating in the dignified transfer of the 13 U.S. service members who died in a terrorist attack last week in Kabul.

"In reference to the checking of his watch, that didn't happen just once," said Hoover, who lost his son, Marine Staff Sgt. Taylor Hoover, in the attack. "That happened on every single one that came out of that airplane. It happened on every single one of them. They would release the salute, and he would look down at his watch on every last one -- all 13 -- he looked down at his watch."

"As a father, you know, seeing that and the disrespect, and hearing from his former leaders, one of his master sergeants said exactly what you just said, that this was avoidable, that they left them over there," he continued. "They let them down, we can’t have that. It can't happen ever again."

Fox News host Sean Hannity asked Schmitz, who lost his son, Marine Lance Corporal Jared Schmitz, what he thought about the watch incident.

"I actually leaned into my son's mother's ear in I said I swear to god if he checks his watch one more time and was probably only four times in, I couldn't look at him anymore after that," Schmitz said. "Considering especially the time and why we were there, I found it to be the most disrespectful thing I'd ever seen."

"When he just kept talking about his son so much it was just -- my interest was lost in that. I was more focused on my own son than what happened with him and his son," Schmitz said. "I'm not trying to insult the president, but it just didn’t seem that appropriate to spend that much time on his own son."

"I think it was all him trying to say he understands grief," Schmitz added. "But when you’re the one responsible for ultimately the way things went down, you kind of feel like that person should own it a little bit more. Our son is now gone. Because of a direct decision or game plan -- or lack thereof -- that he put in place."

Chris Plante said this story ran on the Post's page A12. Not exactly the prominence they gave to Gold Star families blasting Trump in 2016, huh?

Biden also rolled his eyes and threw up his hands at one family member who was complaining to him.

She recounted that she met Biden at the Dover Airport for the dignified transfer ceremony and said the president tried to talk to her about his son Beau Biden who died of cancer.

"[Y]ou tried to interrupt me and give me your own sob story and i had to tell you 'that this isn't about you so don’t make it about you!!!'" Chappell wrote.

Chappell also wrote that Biden grew frustrated with her as she continued talking to him.

"U then rolled your fucking eyes in your head like you were annoyed with me and i let you know that the only reason i was talking to you was out of respect for my son..." she wrote.

She says that Biden turned to walk away and threw up his hand behind him as she continued to speak.

"U turned to walk away and i let you know my sons blood was on your hands and you threw your hand up behind you as you walked away from me like you were saying 'ok whatever!!!'" she wrote.

By the way: Instagram suspended her account for saying that. Only after Breitbart exposed the censorship did they relent and restore it.
