The Morning Rant - Misanthropic Edition

On July 4, 1776 the Declaration of Independence was signed. Signaling the beginning of the greatest country this world has seen.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.--That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, --That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness

What made the USA such an exceptional country? There are many factors, but I opine that one of the greatest factors is the Judaeo-Christian Ethic.

No, the USA isn't perfect. The Civil War, Reconstruction, numerous Civil Rights laws and judicial decisions have not erased the sting of slavery. But, Judaeo-Christian values of the Ten Commandments and Christ's Great Command of loving your neighbor as yourself implemented over the ages have helped.

I'm sure you remember former House Speaker Paul Ryan. He's been busy helping run Fox News into the ground. But he found some time to lambast Donald Trump and his supporters.

Former House Speaker Paul D. Ryan, once a rising star of the Republican Party who lost the battle over the soul of the GOP to Donald Trump, urged his party Thursday to end its preoccupation with the former president and revive its commitment to conservative values.
After years of laying low and only rarely publicly challenging Trump, Ryan, in an evening speech at the Reagan Library in Simi Valley, described conservatives as at “a crossroads.”

“And here’s one reality we have to face: If the conservative cause depends on the populist appeal of one personality, or on second-rate imitations, then we’re not going anywhere,” Ryan said. “Voters looking for Republican leaders want to see independence and mettle.”

“They will not be impressed by the sight of yes-men and flatterers flocking to Mar-a-Lago,” Ryan said, referring to Trump’s Florida residence.

Now you're thinking, what in the hell does Paul Ryan's speech have to do with Judaeo-Christian values?

Instead of criticizing Donald Trump Paul Ryan should have been criticizing the current state of education in America.

During the panel, titled, “White Evangelical Racism: The Politics of Morality in America,” Butler also claimed that “evangelicals are willing to die for whiteness.”

“And it’s not just about health care or guns or anything else. They are willing to die to be white,” the professor continued.

“When people say to you, ‘I don’t see color, I see what Jesus season you,’ that really actually means that they just see white,” Butler added.

University of Virginia professor Larycia Hawkins also chimed in, claiming that the lost cause of the Confederacy is alive and well among white evangelical Christians today.

“I think that a strong and compelling argument can be made, that it’s not just a lost cause, a narrative that still animates white evangelical Christianity wherever it exists, whether it’s on the West Coast, in the south,” Hawkins said.

Educated, delusional with a chip on your shoulder is no way to go through life. I recently spent a week in North Carolina and Virginia. I'm sorry I didn't see the rebirth of the confederacy taking place. I saw men and women of different ages and race interacting with one another in cafes, museums, blues clubs and the list goes on.

Christ told his followers that we would suffer on account of Him. And I can live with that. And as a White Christian male, I have yet to enslave anyone, own anyone or kill any one. But, I will not turn the other cheek and I will "fight" the hate that comes from the left.

Which leads me back to Paul Ryan. Mr. Ryan you had the remarkable opportunity to lead the Republican controlled House of Representatives and spread the Reagan doctrine. You chose not to. Oh, you got your Tax Reform agenda through. Seems to me Orange Man Bad wanted that as well. When it was time to implement common sense immigration reform, Obama/Health Care reform, reigning in unelected bureaucracies you were nowhere to be found.

We are still involved in middle eastern hostile environment. But, you and your Hawkish Neo-Cons are loving it. That's about the only fight you ever had. You talked a good game, but when it was time to govern. You didn't. You turned your back on President Trump and you ran away like the coward you are.

If I'm a populist in your eyes and not a Conservative. So be it. I won't lose any sleep this weekend.

At a campaign rally last year then-President Donald Trump mocked media’s love affair with Biden, “I go through these interviews and every question is a total kill… And this guy walks out holding ice cream and the press is out there, the fake news, and they say, ‘What kind of ice cream are you eating?’ — ‘Uh, uh, Chocolate, and I think vanilla too. Ha’ — I say why don’t they ever ask me those questions, right?”

We know that the news media is biased. They would in turn say no we are not. Bias takes on two forms. The news that they do not wish to share with you or the slanted message they wish to get across.

Champaign, Illinois – An alleged cop killer was recently hailed as an angel by CBS affiliate WCIA. On Friday, the Illinois station aired an image that depicted Darion Lafayette — who died after allegedly killing police officer Chris Oberheim and wounding another officer in a shootout in Champaign, Illinois — as an angel. The feature story on Lafayette began with a family member saying, “He’s the most compassionate person who you will ever meet in your life, if you ever knew him.”

The Judaeo-Christian moral ethics are disappearing. Nature hates a vacuum and those ethics are being replaced with appeasement and race baiting hatemongers to name but a few.

And that my friends is my rant for the week.
