The Morning Rant
One of the progressives' methods of keeping us on the slippery slope to cultural insolvency and chaos is making the normal abnormal, or even criminal.
I remember this being literally the case a number of years ago, back in the 1990s, before the days of the world wide web, when everything was done in the usenet groups, I read an exchange on one of the "alt" groups where someone was talking about the questions he was asked as part of some survey on sexual practices. I noticed that the way the questions were framed, of if you checked off enough of the boxes that showed that you had multiple sex partners of both genders and were pursuing as many different and varied sexual experiences as you possibly could all of the time, that was only way to acquire enough points to score a 'normal' rating by the survey standards.
If turned down opportunities to have sex with randos, or were monogamous, the survey considered that to be 'subnormal'. I don't recall what you had to do to rank above normal.
And the guy who mentioned this survey did so in such a way that suggested he approved of it.
This was from a Slate piece than ran last May. Obviously, this poor woman is really messed up and should get help, but her boyfriend obviously wants a monogamous relationship. She's not helping matters much by labeling this desire (which had been considered perfectly normal for the last four or five thousand years) as "asexuality". It's like she thinks he's a pervert and she wants to know she can best accommodate his perverted desires.
And then, not to be outdone, the gender dysphoria enthusiasts hopped on board this crazy train:
And:
This takes it one step further. Normal behavior is not merely subnormal, but actually immoral. Bigoted. Hateful. So if I decline to date a dude in a dress, I'm deficient. At this point, you have to wonder what they think would be justifiable grounds to turn down a date. Because any rejection could be ascribed to "hate".
That's why I take comfort in the fact that I have been told over and over again that slippery slopes are imaginary, so none of this can possibly be the result of anything that has gone on before.
I Wonder Why?

Monday Who Dis: Cybill Shepherd was a model before she was an actress, making the cover of pretty much every major magazine. She made her screen debut in The Last Picture Show, which in my opinion, is one of the most depressing movies every made. But I digress. Anyway, appearing with her in Picture Show was the young actor Jeff Bridges, who went on to have a fine career of his own, including two more movies with Ms. Shepherd, Texasville in 1990 and The Muse in 1999. He and his wife Susan have been married for 44 years.
