Two More Women Accuse Governor Andrew Cuomo of Inappropriate Behavior
You know, murder is inappropriate behavior, too.
But I guess we're not allowed to talk about that.
Two more women came forward Saturday to accuse Gov. Cuomo of sexually harassing behavior, including a former press aide who describes struggling to free herself from his repeated hugs, and a young assistant who now says he left her feeling like "just a skirt."
Former press aide Karen Hinton endured a "very long, too long, too tight, too intimate" embrace from Cuomo in a dimly lit Los Angeles hotel room in December 2000, she told the Washington Post.
The married Hinton pulled away, but "he pulls me back for another intimate embrace," she told the paper. "I thought at that moment it could lead to a kiss, it could lead to other things, so I just pull away again, and I leave."
Last week, the leader of the state Senate (a Democrat, of course) said that it was cool if Cuomo harassed three women, but four would be too many:
State Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins said Thursday that another woman would have to come forward with allegations of sexual harassment by Gov. Andrew Cuomo before she would call for him to resign.
Surprisingly, she actually honored that "three good, four too many rule" and has now called on Cuomo to resign.
"Every day there is another account that is drawing away from the business of government. We have allegations about sexual harassment, a toxic work environment, the loss of credibility surrounding the Covid-19 nursing home data and questions about the construction of a major infrastructure project," Stewart-Cousins said in a statement released Sunday afternoon. "New York is still in the midst of this pandemic and is still facing the societal, health and economic impacts of it. We need to govern without daily distraction. For the good of the state Gov. Cuomo must resign."
Though that's all she's doing: "calling" for him to resign. No introduction of articles of impeachment.
Republicans have filed articles of impeachment.
I doubt very much she'll support those articles.
And we'll see how long it takes her to crabwalk even the "call" to resign back to a mere Strongly Worded Censure.
Cuomo announced he would not resign merely (merely?) because five different women say he sexually harassed them, because it would be "anti-democratic" to resign. See, he doesn't want to take away people's choice to have a murderous corrupt scumbag and sexual harasser in the governor's mansion (even though I'm pretty sure no one voted for those parts of the Cuomo Agenda).
Meanwhile: Jennifer Rubin's shriveled femcel heart is on an emotional rollercoaster with the rising and falling fortunes of her "boyfriend" (as she described him) Andrew Cuomo.
