Poll: Majority of GOP Voters Want Trump to Start a New Party, Saying It Would Be Better Than the GOP

The amazing thing is: None of this will do a blessed thing to suggest to the crusty grifters who control this party that maybe they're doing something wrong and need a rethink.

The Tea Party wasn't able to spark a rethink, Trump wasn't able to spark a rethink, and not even starting a new party, and then taking all of the GOP's voters, will ever spark a rethink by the old, greedy men with their hands on the tiller.

The GOP will remain Corporations and Wall Street forever. They will continue attempting to drive American wages as close to zero as possible, to benefit a group of hardcore leftwing billionaires who are killing them politically -- but paying them off nicely.

The survey, taken January 21 and 24, 2021, among 1,000 likely U.S. voters told respondents, "Former President Trump has suggested he may start a third party. Is this a good idea or a bad idea?"

While a plurality of likely voters, or 45 percent, believe it is a bad idea, a majority of GOP voters, or 53 percent, consider it a good idea, as do 41 percent of those surveyed overall.

The survey also asked respondents, "If former President Trump started a third party, would you consider the Trump party better or worse than the Republican Party, or about the same?" A plurality said they would consider it to be "worse," followed by 34 percent who said "better," 17 percent who said "about the same," and six percent who said they were not sure. Among GOP voters, 49 percent believe the new party would be "better," 33 percent said "worse," 21 percent said "about the same," and eight percent said, "not sure."

Literally anything, including death, is better than a Dead Man's Hand GOP controlled by vile corporate whores and grizzled grifter-liches.

(By Dead Man's Hand, I mean to suggest the perpetual control of an organization or property by the will (in both senses) of a corpse.

We passed laws forbidding property being controlled forever by a mortmain, or "dead hand." At some point, the property must pass into the control of a living person who can make choices about the property based on evolving facts, not those facts frozen in time at the time of the dead man's will.

It's time to rip this party out of the control of les mains morts or form a new one.)

In 2008, many of us grumbled about McCain getting the nomination and were condescended that you just have to try harder for your nominee. Cut to 2012 and Romney and the sneering was do the hard work to take over the county level positions if you want your candidate so badly.

So people did. Cut to 2016 and WAH WAH WAH NO IT'S NOT BINARY AND WE AREN'T GONNA SUPPORT BAD ORANGE MAN AND IT'S NOT FAAAAIIIIIRRR.

Nothing short of complete ouster will work. This has now been proven.
