Shock Poll: A New "Patriot Party" Would Become the Second Largest Political Party in the USA, Dropping the GOP to an Also-Ran Third Place

Is this really a shock, though?

The trouble is, of course, that Democrats would trounce either party.

But that would be a short-time problem, as people would naturally realign to support the party in the best position to beat the Democrats.

Meaning: bye-bye Severely Conservative Rombley, bye-bye China Mitch, bye-bye Corporate Ken Doll John Thune, and bye-bye sanctimonious schoolmarm and gaseous pansy Ben Sassypants.

But yeah, there will be some short-term pain.

hypothetical "Patriot Party" led by former President Donald Trump would win the support of almost a quarter -- 23% -- of the electorate, bumping the GOP down to third place with just 17%, according to a new Just the News poll with Scott Rasmussen.

The startling survey result comes amid reports that Senate Republican support for convicting Trump in an impeachment trial is fast eroding.

A Trump third party could provoke a pivotal realignment in American politics. With the support of 46% of registered voters in the new poll, Democrats would reap the benefits of a fractured opposition and entrench themselves as the nation's dominant party -- even without majority support.

Among "very conservative" voters -- who make up a disproportionately large bloc within the Republican primary electorate -- a Trump Patriot Party crushes the GOP 55%-24%.

What a surprise on that one, huh? The GOP is chiefly supported by the cvcks and RINOs and corporatist liberal-libertarians. Gee, I never would have guessed that based on how the GOP behaves.

I got this from Roger Simon, who speculates that the reason we've gone from "16 or 17" GOPe Senators looking to convict Trump to merely the National Review 5 is because they saw the poll.

[The poll] wasn't really surprising--not to me and probably not to most of you--but it apparently was to a group of seemingly-clueless Republican senators who only a few days ago registered the possibility that they might vote to convict a president of their own party who was not even still in office.

The poll must have scared the proverbial bejesus out of them. Anyway it should have.

So we won’t forget the original Republican reprobates, they were, according to a Jan. 25, 2021 report here at The Epoch Times:

Sen. Richard Shelby (R-Ala.)

Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.)

Sen. Pat Toomey (R-Pa.)

Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine)

Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska)

Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah)

Sen. Ben Sasse (R-Neb.)

Sen. Rob Portman (R-Ohio)

Sen. Dan Sullivan (R-Alaska)

Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.)

Sen. James Lankford (R-Okla.)

Sen. Mike Crapo (R-Idaho)

Sen. Thom Tillis (R-N.C.)

Sen. Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.)

Sen. Richard Burr (R-N.C.)

Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-La.)

How quickly things change. After Tuesday’s vote, sixteen were reduced to five in a flash!

Only Collins and Murkowski (perpetual outsiders), Toomey (not running for reelection), Sasse (looking for QAnon under every rock) and, of course, Romney remain. Call them The Five (not to be confused with Greg Gutfeld et. al.).

We needn't belabor that only a day or so ago newly-ensconced minority leader McConnell was touting the inevitability of a trial he just voted against as unconstitutional. How embarrassing.

These "Republicans" are clueless about what the actual party wants because they long ago gave up listening to voters. They only listen to "stakeholders" -- corporations and lobbying groups with business before the government, and contracts to hand out post-electoral politics -- and to the leftwing media, which claims that NeverTrump represents 80% of the GOP, and they also listen to the "Conservative" media, which also claims that NeverTrump represents 80% of the GOP (as it represents 98% of "conservative" media).

So yeah, given the sources they're listening to, it's no wonder that they're continually surprised by the genuine political sentiment in the air.

Related: a poll says that a clear majority of Republicans, 56%, expect Trump to remain a major political force.

The 34% who disagree just happen to, once again, agree with the 60% of Democrats who think Trump will not be a force.

Weird how the same people keep on aligning with Democrat Party sentiment. Almost as if... a shared social milleu was a more important influence on political thinking than mere philosophy.

Almost as if the Effete Urban Liberal wing of the GOP had more in common with the Effete Urban Liberals of the Democrat Party than with their less effete, less urban, less liberal fellow GOP members.

Oh, but once again, I have to plug National Review's latest Web-A-Thon. They oppose you in every single way -- they are offended by your mere existence -- but you should send them your money because 1, they support "politeness," and 2, with billionaire Democrats reducing their donations now that the mission has been accomplished, they're counting on You to pay for the additions to their houses.

You filthy serfs and mud-dwellers like politeness, right? Or "honor"? Or America?

Or whatever abstract bullshit they're pitching to you this week to distract from the fact that they are your political opponents on nearly every single issue, including, especially, your right to merely speak and read what you like without being punished for it?

Give them your fucking money, peons.
