The Morning Report - 11/3/20

Good morning, kids. We have reached a moment of truth in the life of this nation unlike anything we have ever experienced, and G-d forbid, we should ever have to experience again. But the situation is what it is. It's in your face and to not see it - especially now - is to live in a state of denial so intense as to warrant seeking psychological help. I am not one for cult of personality type adulation of individuals, but this nation, that is those who believe in its promise as set forth by its founders, owe a debt of gratitude to President Donald Trump that can never be repaid.

There is an apocryphal quote attributed to a witness of the execution of Charles I. As the axe fell he reportedly said, "that so good a man should be so bad a king." Disregarding the circumstances surrounding the utterance of that phrase, in terms of Trump, perhaps it's appropriate to say "that so flawed a man should be so outstanding a president." But having said that, what really are this man's "flaws?" In the cold light of day, they are petty and meaningless. "Make America Great Again" is not just a catchy phrase or a campaign slogan. For Trump, it is a mantra and a way of life. Whatever he has achieved in his life because of his education, skills, drive and support from his family could not have happened anywhere else. It was the greatness of America, the freedom to succeed or fail and start over on one's own terms that made him great. One of the rhetorical kill-shots of the final debate (not quite two weeks but which seems like it was ages ago) was when Trump said...

"You know, Joe, I ran because of you. I ran because of Barack Obama, because you did a poor job. If I thought you did a good job, I would've never run. I would've never run. I ran because of you. I'm looking at you now, you're a politician. I ran because of you."

Those words are just pregnant with meaning. More than mere policy, or problem-solving, Trump understood that it was not only what those two, their party as well as the GOP-e collaborators didn't accomplish in eight years, but what they were complicit in for years and even decades before Donald J. Trump even entertained the possibility of running for office: the methodical dismantling of the very things, stated above, that made not only the success of Donald Trump but every other hard-working, G-d-fearing, law-abiding American possible. Look at what he, his family, friends and his loyal team have been put through since he came down the escalator at Trump Tower five-and-a-half years ago. To say it's been a living hell is an understatement.

Look at what we who supported him have been put through: everything from cement hate-shakes, bike locks, beat downs, blood-libeling, bullets and arson, to censorship, ridicule, intimidation and loss of employment for daring to exercise our rights to express our opinion guaranteed in a sacred document; one which those who abuse us seek to destroy while conveniently hiding behind its very protections when called out.

No, Donald J. Trump did not need to do this. Donald J. Trump felt he HAD to do this.

The final sentence before the signatures on The Declaration of Independence reads:

And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor.

The 56 men who signed that document on July 4th, 1776 knew full well that had they not gained independence for the colonies, they were signing their own death warrant. Even if, please GOD, President Trump wins reelection, when he leaves office at noon on January 20th, 2025 he, his children and his grandchildren will be targeted for retribution for all time by the forces who, until he came along, were well on the way to "fundamentally transforming" America into a vassal state of surpassing mediocrity and misery to be lorded over by puppets of a global government, itself controlled by the Chi-Coms.

To risk all of that, with one's eyes wide open, truly takes an individual with character, faith in the Almighty and when you get right down to it, guts. I cannot even put into words how I personally feel about being proud for the first time in my adult life to cast a vote for someone. It's up there with the trepidation I feel about who comes after this president. Trump cannot be a one-off. He must not be a one-off. The enthusiasm and energy of tens of thousands of people at those rallies just can't be for one man; it has to be for a movement that heralds a national revival.

Yes, we owe a debt of gratitude to President Donald Trump that can never be repaid -- except of course to go out and cast a vote for this man.

Whatever the outcome, he approached things honestly and relied on the broadest possible sources and methodologies to come to a conclusion in as unbiased and neutral a way that he could.
