The French National Anti-Terror Police (PNAT) has taken over the investigation into the decapitation of a man in the late afternoon of Friday October 16 at Conflans Sainte-Honorine (Yvelines), reported the AFP.

The investigation had been opened for "murder in relation to a terrorist scheme" and "association of terrorist criminals," according to this source...

Around five o'clock PM, at Eragny, an anti-criminal brigade at Conflans Sainte-Honorine had spotted an individual carrying a knife. When the police had asked him to put his weapon the ground, he had refused. "Aggressive and menacing," he was shot down by the police. By his side, the police discovered the body of a decapitated man.

Police had not been able to immediately approach him because the attacker was wearing an explosive vest and a bomb-squad team was in operation by the end of the day.
