This passes the smell test -- it has long been known that the Gulf States of UAE, Bahrain, and Oman were in an open-secret alliance with Israel (as well as Saudi Arabia) against another open-secret alliance of the hardline Sunni Islamists of Turkey and the hardline Shi'a Islamists of Iran.
