The Morning Rant: Minimalist Edition
Insanity, thy name is Feminism.
The pinch-faced scolds of the Left have an even more angry and unsatisfied-with-life subset populated by fourth-wave feminists who seem to be furious at everything and everybody who doesn't hate men and patriarchies and women who like men and puppies and...
This deeply deluded twit has found the cloud around the silver lining of AA, which seems to be an amazingly accepting organization with a singular focus and no preconceived notions other than that alcohol is a bad thing when abused. But no idea is too pure to be tarred with Feminism's accusations of...uh...everything.
An insane 'feminist' attack on Alcoholics Anonymous
The piece gets worse. Taking issue with AA’s first step — admitting powerlessness over alcohol — Whitaker finds the very idea anathema to her ethos of Girl Power über alles: “Today’s women don’t need to be broken down or told to be quiet,” she writes. “We need the opposite. I worry that any program that tells us to renounce power that we have never had poses the threat of making us sicker.”
Amazing, isn't it? She would rather women remain drunk, ruining their lives and the lives of those around them just to prevent her imagined surrender to the power dynamic of the world. That's deeply disturbed and, quite frankly nuts.
“They’re drinking because they have so little power,” she claims, “because all they’ve ever done is follow the rules and humble themselves, because their egos have been crushed under a system that reduces their value to subservience, likability and silence.”
These people can find flaws in everything except their own horrid view of humanity and the world. They are vile people who hate the world and the people in it, and they need to be ridiculed for their catastrophically bad takes on culture.
I wonder whether the real reason this harridan hates AA is because of its idea that one must surrender to a higher power to be successful in fighting one's demons? She clearly doesn't countenance the concept that maybe, just maybe, she isn't the most important thing in the universe, and being told that she is wrong is intolerable. So she couches her profound insecurity in the vernacular of the strident, angry feminist, just to avoid looking in the mirror and seeing herself.
