New Jersey Representative Jeff Van Drew to Switch Party Affiliation from Democrat to Republican to Protest Impeachment
Seven leftwing AIDS have resigned in protest. The AIDS say they are deeply disappointed and that Jeff Van Drew's decision is contrary to the principles of the AIDS.
In a letter shared with USA TODAY, [Democrat AIDS] told Van Drew's chief of staff, Allison Murphy, on Sunday that "Van Drew's decision to join the ranks of the Republican Party led by Donald Trump does not align with the values we brought to this job when we joined his office."
"Over the past year, Trump Republicans have sided with special interests over the needs of working people," they said. "Worse, they continue to aid and abet Trump as he shreds the Constitution and tears the country apart. They have refused to grapple with how the President of the United States has jeopardized our national security for his own political advantage."
Media and Democrat operatives (but I repeat myself) are trying to spin that this really isn't bad for impeachment, because Van Drew was already facing re-election trouble.
But isn't that just worse for Democrats? That, even absent impeachment, all the Democrats elected who swung the House in 2018 are having difficult re-election fights?
Below, Elissa Slotkin catches hell from her red district voters for joining San Fran Nan and Pelosi's own Democrat AIDS.
