The Media and the Democrats (But I Repeat Myself) Attempt to Portray the Death of Al-Baghdadi as a Net Negative for US Security; Complain That Trump Is Not Treating al-Baghdadi with Enough "Respect"

Okay, that's a parody based on the Washington Post calling this terrorist rapist and serial killer an "Austere Religious Scholar" in their obit, but, of course, the Washington Post and others in the media are in fact pushing a very similar line.

See if you can see a pattern -- a very subtle narrative -- to the Washington Post's "coverage" of the story:

Bloomberg News, owned by a man threatening to run against Trump, also digs deep down into its partisan lizard-brain to paint al-Baghdadi as a rags-to-riches success story:

This is the Austere Religious Scholar these people are portraying as an idealistic dreamer who made good:

Gee, you'd think that Trump made a terrible error by approving the mission, huh?

That's what this NeverTrumper from "Lawfareblog" says. We actually just increased recruitment for the Caliphate by killing the one man with the bloodline to establish a Caliphate at all.

James Clapper of course had to get in on this "This makes ISIS even more dangerous" spin.

Even lefties with no love of Trump notice the huge difference between the media's celebration of Obama's "We got him" to this shrieking about Trump's taking out the cur:

Speaking of that, partisan, traitorous Democrats and the media (but I repeat myself) complaining that Trump didn't give Nancy Pelosi and Adam Schiff a pre-raid briefing so that they could leak it and deliberately compromise the mission and maybe get US troops killed:

Ed Driscoll points out that we had a solid lead on Baghdadi in 2015 -- but apparently egotists in the Obama Adminstrattion couldn't help brag about it to their media friends, who promptly published this information.

Then Baghdadi disappeared again.

In a wide-ranging interview moderated by Fox News' Catherine Herridge, Thomas, who leads the Special Operations Command, said his team was "particularly close" to Baghdadi after the 2015 raid that killed ISIS oil minister Abu Sayyaf. That raid also netted his wife, who provided a wealth of actionable information.

"That was a very good lead. Unfortunately, it was leaked in a prominent national newspaper about a week later and that lead went dead," Thomas said.

Jake Tapper, who Really Loves the Troops (TM) and starts tweeting about them whenever he's in trouble, calls the troops a "lesser matter:"

Another line of attack: That Trump told Russia "Please don't shoot down our helicopters which will pass through airspace you control." Apparently this is the New Collusion.

By the way, Trump did not "brief the Russians" about the nature and objective of the mission. He merely told them, as he must, that there would be American aircraft traversing Russia-controlled airspace in a certain time window and would they be kind enough to let them pass?

But of course the simple act of trying to keep American helicopters from being shot down is now collusion.

Annoying Twitter Troll and sockpuppeteer Pierre Delecto rushed to try to associate himself with someone else's success:

Mitt Romney is trying to ride on Trump's shoulders like he forced his dog to ride on top of the car.

Democrats and the media (but I repeat myself) complaining that Trump's killing of Al-Badhdadi wasn't done with the sharply-creased-trouser elegance and elan of Obama:

This Vox reporter is very ass-mad about Trump using hurtful words about a man he just ordered to be executed:

CNN's Max Boot, another Chairborne Ranger first-class, stood up to defend Baghdadi's courage and valor:

He's now claiming he didn't mean the words he wrote. He didn't mean to "conveyu the impression" that Baghdadi had courage.

True, Boot did not mean to merely imply it, he explicitly declared it:

@MaxBoot

An earlier version included a sentence questioning whether Trump was right to call Baghdadi a coward. That was removed b/c it wrongly conveyed the impression that I considered Baghdadi courageous. As I wrote Sun: Baghdadi was "a sick and depraved man."

Obama's Ambassador to Qatar (of course) is very, very upset that Trump used mean words to describe al-Badhdadi, and urges that we give him a very respectful Muslim funeral.

Jen Psaki also pushed that line:

Obama official Mike Morrell, who edited the Benghazi talking points to cover up for Hillary Clinton, and then, strangely enough, went to work for lots of money for a private intelligence company closely connected to Hillary Clinton, also thinks we're being big meanies:

Another Obama official whines that Trump didn't kill Baghdadi with enough "respect."

Even more whining from CNN that Trump wasn't nice enough in talking about Baghdadi -- in fact, he "sounds like ISIS," the Noted CNN Talking Head expertly opines.
