One of Biden's Biggest Defenders Is the Atlantic Council, Which Was Paid $250,000 By Hunter Biden's Firm Burisma in 2018 Alone;
CNN Does an Oopsie and "Forgets" To Note This In Interview

No legitimate basis for looking into any of these "conspiracy theories," said the people who broke America forever with a three year disinformation campaign of conspiracy theories fed partly by players in Ukraine.

Where oh, look, it just so happens that the Family Biden had a major financial interest.

Sean Davis:

In a recent television interview, CNN brought on a former U.S. diplomat in Ukraine to assert that Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden had done nothing wrong in threatening to withhold U.S aid until a Ukrainian prosecutor was fired. What CNN failed to disclose was that John Herbst, the former diplomat interviewed by CNN anchor Kate Bolduan, had a significant conflict of interest regarding Burisma, the controversial Ukrainian gas concern that was reportedly being investigated by the prosecutor whose firing Biden had demanded.

Herbst currently runs the Eurasia Center for the Atlantic Council, a foreign policy-focused tax-exempt organization that is funded in part by Burisma. According to the Atlantic Council’s web page, Burisma donated as much as $250,000 to the Atlantic Council in 2018 alone.

During his interview with CNN, Herbst claimed that Biden was merely following the lead of various international partners in demanding the firing of Viktor Shokin, the Ukrainian prosecutor general at the time. However, in testimony before the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, State Department official George Kent told lawmakers that the international community deferred to U.S. leadership on the matter.

Now Sean Davis is a good researcher, but I don't think that it's hard to find out who is funding who.

You just have to... want to spend the five or ten minutes necessary for it.

Remember the Des Moines Register's excuse as to why they scalp-hunted Carson King for posting a joke from a Comedy Central tv show when he was sixteen years old?

They claimed: "it was just a routine social media background check."

Routine, they tell us.

And yet when they have a person on to make political claims they don't bother to spend five minutes looking on OpenSecrets or into who is listed as donors to The Atlantic Council's publicly-available 990s?

Routine background checks?

Sounds like highly selective, partisan-directed background checks.

Sounds to me like CNN isn't interested in finding out anything that might hurt the narrative its carnival-barker chief is pushing.

Oh by the way:

No big deal, but Bill Taylor -- Adam Schiff's star chamber witness -- also has ties to the Burisma-funded Atlantic Council.

Acting U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Bill Taylor, who provided key testimony to the Democrats' controversial impeachment inquiry yesterday, has evidenced a close relationship with the Atlantic Council think tank, even writing Ukraine policy pieces with the organization’s director and analysis articles published by the Council.

The Atlantic Council is funded by and works in partnership with Burisma, the natural gas company at the center of allegations regarding Joe Biden and his son, Hunter Biden.

In addition to a direct relationship with the Atlantic Council, Taylor for the last nine years also served as a senior adviser to the U.S.-Ukraine Business Council (USUBC), which has co-hosted events with the Atlantic Council and has participated in events co-hosted jointly by the Atlantic Council and Burisma.

Meanwhile, a search of government records reveals that Joe Biden intervened with both the DHS and the DOJ on behalf of Graft Hunter's clients.

From the Washington Examiner. Outline.com link here.

Joe Biden privately contacted the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Justice when he was a senior and influential U.S. senator to discuss issues that his son Hunter’s firm was being paid to lobby on, according to government records.

On at least two occasions, Biden contacted federal departments to discuss issues related to Hunter's firm's lobbying clients, according to records reviewed by the Washington Examiner.

...

Government records show that Biden, who has always insisted he knows nothing about his son's business activities, helped Hunter's work with strategic and highly specific interventions that could have benefited his son to the tune of tens of thousands of dollars.

And even though Biden is lagging in fundraising and burning through cash at a faster rate than he raises it, don't worry, deep-pocked multimillionaire Democrats (and of course corporate classs Republicans) are going to try to revive his flagging campaign with huge amounts of cash.

And his campaign says it's now interested in hoovering up money via a SuperPAC -- something the corrupt Biden previously vowed he would not do.

Although he sits atop or near the top of recent polls, Biden's lackluster financial performance has set off rounds of public hand-wringing among Democratic establishment figures about his ability to competitively fund his campaign through the battery of state primaries early next year.

Larry Rasky, the former Biden aide who is spearheading the effort to stand up the super PAC, responded to the Biden campaign by pledging to "have (Biden's) back."

...

While Biden had previously spoken out against the creation of a super PAC, which would operate entirely separately from his campaign, several longtime allies say it's clear that his presidential bid needs help. No final decision has been made about launching the outside group, but allies have started contacting potential vendors and lining up possible donors to fuel a super PAC, sources familiar with the efforts tell CNN.

"They know they can use all the help they can get," one Biden ally told CNN, speaking on condition of anonymity to discuss the group. "Trump is crushing him with spending."

In the statement on Thursday, Bedingfield said Biden would "push to remove private money from our federal elections" if he won the White House.

But not yet, of course.

Lord, grant me integrity and independence from Dark Money Donors, but don't grant it to me yet.
